Remember when the default FP avatar would be some dogs ass, I think we found it's replacement.
Well, I can only wish them happiness and joy.
I <3 Stephen
I can't help it, but whenever i see a really young person marrying a much older partner i can't help but think about how creepy it is.
I'm happy for him, but that's a big gap.

I dunno, he's not 'really young'. He's young, but not really young. Like, pretty sure anyone at age 27 is old enough to know what the hell they're doing, as opposed to when you see old farts get together with someone 18 - 22 years old. Yeah, the age-gap is pretty big, but I find it hard to see it as creepy.

And even then... He's boning Stephen Fry! That's like, living the god damn dream, right there!
He's boning Stephen Fry!
I think it's the other way around.
Maybe I'm not looking enough, but I seem to ONLY see it when referencing same-sex couples. Makes it feel like (to me) it's not as good as a hetero couple.
Typically the way it gets used here is as a word for when someone's been together for a while but aren't married yet (And maybe don't plan to be), regardless of orientation.
It's like a more serious version of boyfriend/girlfriend basically.
I think it's the other way around.
I don't know how gay couples work...
I don't know how gay couples work...
they don't come with a manual most of the time
Stephen Fry, 57, 'to marry toyboy lover Elliott Spencer, 27,'
fuck this shitty tabloid. stephen fry owns
[editline]6th January 2015[/editline]
a 30 year gap is one thing when one side is like 18-21, but this guy is 27. he looks rather young, but it's not that strange
fuck this shitty tabloid. stephen fry owns
Jesus. Somehow, the Daily Mail managed to make themselves look like even bigger cunts than they already are.
I see it used, and use it, all the time for any sort of couple, especially past the age of 30 since 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend' seems more than a little juvenile at that point; y'know, 'boy' and 'girl' don't really apply any more. I even sometimes to my own girlfriend as 'my partner' if the context seems more fitting that way, like if it's formal or talking about the both of us instead of me relating to her or her relating to me or what do I know. Mostly see it used when it's a bit less specific though, like where genders and marital status could be kinda who-even-knows; is it a dude or a lady, wife, girlfriend, husband or boyfriend? Who knows?
Boyfriend and girlfriend are good descriptions for over 90% of relationships, it seems kind of silly to avoid using the term.
Wait hold on, is this the guy I use to always watch after school? I met him at a museum once while he filmed an episode about dinosaurs.
Yeah
That 30 year age difference, wonder if money has anything to do with it.
A lot of young guys dig older 'daddy'-type men, its just a thing people tend to be into. If you don't think its common, go to a gay dating network of your choosing, make an account as an older man looking for young guys and wait for the incoming messages.
Boyfriend and girlfriend are good descriptions for over 90% of relationships, it seems kind of silly to avoid using the term.
I don't avoid it, I just use it alongside other terms. "Hey is it okay if I bring my partner to the bar tonight?"
[editline]6th January 2015[/editline]
Hell, in Danish, 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend' are one gender-neutral word, and I still use partner.
30 to 60 isn't that extreme.
Good for him, Stephen is one of the few brit's that I've watched lots of, enjoy his stuff.
It kind of is really. As other people said, it's like marrying your parent.
Not judging either of them, I don't give 2 shits on who marries who cause it doesn't concern me but a 30 year age gap definitely isn't the "norm".
I don't know how gay couples work...
Fry is definitely the top
The age gap is definitely not a gay thing though - a whole bunch of men and women marry older than themselves for whatever reason. I don't think it's fair to claim golddigger either - Stephen's definitely smart enough and practiced enough in socialising to know what he's doing
I guess it speaks about my views that I am more disturbed by the age difference and not at all disturbed by the gay marriage.
I hope they have a long and awesome marriage.
I'm all glad for gay rights and gay marriage but that doesn't make the gap less weird to me
I mean if they're both happy that's great but wow
i dont think its so much the gap that makes it seem a little weird
i think that its because in the source pic, elliott spencer looks like hes 14. the actual gap is decently big, but not overwhelmingly large
that could be it I mean the guy looks my age in that pic
living under a rock bigger than a mountain
...couldn't you have just said "been living under a mountain?"
big fry is a baller and he deserves a hot twink
What an age gap.
Well, even if his husband is only in it for the money, at least he scored :v:
one younger guy and a 30 year older man together is weird
but one younger girl and a 30 year older man is viewed more normal?
I don't think it's weird. I'd marry Stephen Fry
one younger guy and a 30 year older man together is weird

What? Am I missing something in what you tried to say?

An age gap of 30 years would be strange and somewhat offputting no matter who the two people were.
