I imagine there are cameras in every room aswell.
All of the other buildings look like parking garages from the soviet union
That's because they are. But with no cars.
Why does that crazy old man persist in torturing his people? It's painstakingly obvious it isn't going to work out. Ofcourse, with the amount of brainwashing the people have gotten, suicide rates might skyrocket if they found out just how much they've been deprived of in this world... they might ACTUALLY deny the outside world as-is even if it's right there, just under their noses, thinking "it must be a test by our Glorious Leader to see how loyal we are to our country...". This just made me sad :C
When I see videos of pyonyang on youtube there are nice big buildings everywhere, like a replica of the Paris bow of triumph and huge government buildings that seem to be based on the reichstag. But like this hotel, everything seems to be lacking detail of some sort, it are just big heaps of concrete it seeems. I get the same feeling from this video On first sight it looks like a kind of normal restaurant, but unlike restaurants in the ''normal'' world, a certain ambiance is just missing.
It was probably built around some doomsday laser cannon.
The national philosophy is called Juche, which Kim Il Sung created. It's centered around the idea of self reliance. So North Korea has gone full circle from communists to libertarians, basically.
Totalitarian libertarians.
It was probably built around some doomsday laser cannon.
I just had this weird thought of Kim Jong Il playing TF2
I'm waiting for South Korea to accidently send a rocket flying through that shit.
Reminds me of the citadel from HL2. Fits the totalitarian nature of NK's government too.
Meanwhile, in North Korea...
When I see videos of pyonyang on youtube there are nice big buildings everywhere, like a replica of the Paris bow of triumph
Except they made it quite a bit larger, just so they could claim to have the world's largest triumphal arch. They also have the worlds largest stadium, and had the world's tallest flagpole.
Meanwhile, in North Korea...
That's pretty sweet. Someone needs to make a decent Gmod map set in North Korea. All we got right now is this: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=121197
I always thought NK looked almost exactly like city 17 This just reinforces it :v:
Looks like a nuclear missile...

Who the fuck is going to visit it, no one has time off, and no one has any money, and no one is allowed in the country.
Who the fuck is going to visit it, no one has time off, and no one has any money, and no one is allowed in the country.
Who else than Kim-boy himself? And I'm pretty sure the main purpose of these over-kill construction projects is to offer South-Korea, along with the rest of the world, a facade so they can say "Look how well we're doing, our system is right and makes us happy, I mean, C'mon, just look at all this marvelous shit!" when in fact the country is slowly slipping deeper into economic chaos. Also something that's really interesting. Y'all know about those "Monitors" they send to stalk you when you're not with an officially appointed guide, right? To make sure you don't take any incriminating footage/photos, making NK look bad? They seem to be fairly easy to distinguish. So what if you have a set of NK casual clothes, a perfect asian mask and a wig. Could you take a sharp corner somewhere when he bastard isn't looking, zig-zag through alleyways, get in a dark corner, transform into an NK civvie and take to the streets without being shadowed? Or are they SO thorough that they have some sort of a weird-ass system that still blows your cover?
Looks cool.
I'm sure the accommodations include straw bed, kerosene lantern, and a wood stove. 5-Korean-Star-Hotel right there. They would also give you a complimentary bullet on your bed.
I can't help but think of playing Mercenaries a long time ago in my child hood and leveling that hotel with a bunker buster... ah good times indeed. (Gotta love Mattias.)

And for other buildings, would be any person really. For apartments 'Tenants', etc.
I think it looks pretty cool.....
