I don't need schemes to make money either, but If I could get that much all at once I would take the opportunity but thats just me.

And you're an immoral boob for thinking that's an okay thing to do.

yes sir
I do have a job? Why earn money like the rest of the world when obviously most of the world hardly gets any money in that manner and you have a chance to get money easily?
You don't see a problem with everyone being a dick and trying to do that?
Call me rude, but it was her own damn fault for spilling the coffee. Unless you're getting iced coffee, it's pretty much common knowledge that fresh coffee is hot as fuck. Just because it didn't have "Caution hot" on the cup doesn't make it McDonalds' fault. Did she not have feeling in her hands or something?
In the case of mcdonalds she got extremely severe third degree burns

Not McD's fault.
You don't see a problem with everyone being a dick and trying to do that?
well I don't see it as a problem because the opportunity almost never presents itself so not everyone can do it.
Not McD's fault.
Well Judge Robert H Scott of New Mexico disagrees with you.

Just because he's a judge, doesn't mean he's all knowing and perfect. Judges here in Maryland let violent criminals off with nothing more than a "bad boy don't do that again" punishment.
Why? Sue someone because you spilled something on yourself? You're a dumbass. The airline did nothing wrong.
This is the problem with society today, no one wants to work for money. They all want to sue for it.
apple sues for stupid reasons
why can't i?
in fact i'lll sue you because you called me stupid indirectly

oh what are you judge dredd
I make $90k a year doing honest work. I'm doing well. I don't need schemes to make money.
What the hell do you do?
Dayum you lucky bastard.

do you know anything at all about the case? they served coffee pretty much straight out of the pot, at around 85c. they received and ignored hundreds of reports that their coffee was way too fucking hot. they are entirely to blame
I would probably sue for the cost of medical restoration, and maybe $10,000 for pain and suffering. (maybe even half that because it's my fault)
$800,000 is just too much.

Systems Engineer.
Not McD's fault.
Oh, you fell off a ladder we gave you? Not our fault, you shouldn't have used it.
You got shot when a member of staff forgot to put the safety on? Not our fault, you shouldn't have gone near the gun.

What? Why sue a company that made something because of human error?

It's a problem with the system, not the people. It isn't "dumb" to want to get money from a corporation if you think you have a reasonable chance of doing so.
Would the people who rated dumb or disagree mind counter-arguing at all?
Oh, you fell off a ladder we gave you? Not our fault, you shouldn't have used it.

The ladder example was your fault unless there was something wrong with the ladder.
What? Why sue a company that made something because of human error?
Under what circumstances would you sue a company then?
Not McD's fault.
It was her own fault that she spill the coffee on herself. But I dont think it would be unreasonable to question McD's about their drink temperatures.
To settle the McDonalds case, she started at like $20k which ramped up to like 2 million because the case kept not getting settled. Out of that the judge considered it 20% her fault, so they sliced 20% off the total cash value.
They served it way too hot to drink. It caused second and third degree burns over a good portion of her body.
You spill 200 degree water on yourself and sue a company that had nothing to do with it... This is morally fucked up. You're stupid for wanting to do this.
Yeah because you with your outstanding morals would definitely decline $800,000 if given the opportunity.

I wouldn't sue someone for being clumsy, if that's what you mean.
It was her own fault that she spill the coffee on herself. But I dont think it would be unreasonable to question McD's about their drink temperatures.
Sure, I'd definitely reprimand them for it, but giving a way enough money to live your whole life without working, because you spillt coffee on yourself, is simply stupid.
Personally, I find that this is her own "fault" - it was bad luck. I would personally prefer having my tea served at that temperature - if I brew my tea without heating the pot first (and that's not really a big energy loss), it ends up tasting less like like tea.
I wouldn't sue someone for being clumsy, if that's what you mean.
Not even if you ended up with second degree burns and were PERMANENTLY SCARRED?
Again, either forgiving on the level of Jesus, or a total moron.

If I fell out of a tree in a state park because the branch broke leaving me with permanent injuries, would I sue the state? Nope. It'd be my own fault.
They brought her a liquid capable of giving second degree burns, which is already stupid in an aircraft which can experience turbulence at any time, and then expected her to make tea without a tray table.
It is pretty reasonable to be pissed.

Part of becoming an adult is learning to take responsibility for your actions.
Did you not learn this in grade 2?

This isn't the best comparison. Trees exist without man, coffee/tea does not.
