Moron Alert: Passenger sues Southwest Airlines for $800,000 over hot tea spill

The thread's title is biased as fuck, as we can clearly see this suit has two sides. I'm pretty sure there's more to investigate on this. Example:
[...]Southwest does not have tray tables in the front rows of its aircraft[...]
One could safely say if a tray could help with placing the cup on it while holding it and provide a most fixed and secure position while attempting to remove the tea bag from between the hot water cup and the 2nd cup... Should the scalding, boiling water spill, most of it would land on the tray.
I remember on Air Canada, they would not serve hot beverages if the plane was turbulent, probably for this exact reason.
Maybe it would have helped if he could have opened the window.

This is the problem with society today, no one wants to work for money. They all want to sue for it.
ahha
you sound like a 80 year old man ranting on about unrelated shit.
Keller's body suffered second degree burns and her skin blistered, peeled and she was permanently scarred, the lawyers said.

hey faze tea isn't supposed to be that hot
Not McD's fault.
It was McD's fault for having the drink temperature be way over industry standards.
It's one thing to get a few burns from spilling a drink on yourself, but no drink should fuse your labia together if you accidentally spill it.
yeah i mean i think it's reasonable to expect a beverage that you buy would not permanently damage you.
i mean when i go to starbucks and take a sip of their tea i don't lose my sense of taste for a year.
You'd be taking funds from a company that had nothing to do with your fuck up. Get a job and earn money like the rest of the world. If you want easy money, play the lottery or gamble.
if the drink is hot enough to cause burns it should have never been served, now the person has to deal with not only medical bills as this is the USA, but loss of income caused by being unable to work as they recovered, ask because the company makes their drinks too hot

Are we both looking at a different picture? Because my first reaction to seeing the picture was "ohmyfuckinggod! next page can't load fast enough". Even as I type this and see the image, my brain can never unseen it.
Here is some perspective for hot water.

It doesn't take long for really hot water to cause serious burns. When there is no safe position to steep hot tea on a possibly turbulent flight, bad things can happen.
in situations like these it's easy to put a spin on things that make the offending person sound like an idiot because we don't know the full story
the devil's in details
They shouldn't serve it when it is that hot, especially when you're in a moving vehicle with no chance of getting to a hospital any time soon if you do get burnt.
Even if it had to be that hot, they could at least find a way to make a closed cup.

That was one of the better pictures too.
