The sun came out from behind both the clouds and the moon at the same time. Thanks
I've got woken up few hours ago and i can confirm that i've seen some serious shit
I saw it very, VERY clearly.
Clear blue sky all week, cloudy as fuck on friday. Come on!

My camera's battery died before I was able to get the right settings. Too much glare here. Oh well.
nothing in Lebanon. I'm disappointed, I never saw an eclipse before :(

Can see a faint sun through the clouds. Also seagulls.[/QUOTE]
Yeah that pretty much summarizes my view.

The way everything gets dimmer is really surreal.

does anyone know when the next total solar eclipse is? (that is visible in europe)

There's an annular one coming up though that'll cut straight through Norway and Sweden...
In 2039...
Set your alarms people!
it was 2000% overcast here in East Sussex so I recorded a timelapse of the change in brightness
I also overlayed this morning's satellite cloud map, roughly synchronised, which of course shows the shadow of the moon racing across

someone on facebook genuinely asked this

so this morning I was stuck in a chemistry lab and the lab tech I'm friends with asked me to get something pointless from the store room to give me an excuse to go outside and view it :D this one girl had a pinhole camera and it was really cool, it's the first eclipse I've ever seen. The sky only went a tad darker but everything went sort of quiet and eerie. Big high five to anyone who saw it :)
Really goddamn disappointed. It was misty as hell the whole morning, and I've only see it get slightly darker outside, like it was early in the morning. Fuck fog and clouds.
Managed to see it with a Welder Mask. I was very lucky, because it was cloudy, and it appeared on a clear part of the sky.
Watched it today in Moscow. Was okay.
Had to check my GPS to make sure I was indeed facing the sun.

It was shit. Just ugly grey clouds.

I saw a lot of people just looking at the sun.

People on Facebook keep sharing this old fake photo "from the ISS" and going like "wow so beautiful".

I was dumb enough to look straight at it during the whole thing and be like "damn it's bright" each time. I can still feel the sun burning inside my eye.
At least I can tell them I saw it with my own eyes, "clear as day".
