just look at indirectly for a short period
Even that's dangerous. There was a million DIY ways to look at it, even reflecting it off your phone screen onto a piece of paper or your hand was a way.
just look at indirectly for a short period
I'll try to remember that for next time. [editline]20th March 2015[/editline] Okay maybe not then. I don't know.
I am SO glad that i was in bavaria to see the total solar eclipse in 1999 - the weather was fine for the entire week and JUST this morning it was foggy as fuck. It's 14:00 now and the sun is still behind clouds :suicide: I didn't even need these old welder goggles i still have :c
Even that's dangerous. Today in the UK, it's a beautiful, cloudless day. It's also my day off! It's also the day I had no idea about the eclipse and slept through it.
I looked at it by placing 3 sunglasses on top of each other. I saw it clearly, still burned my eyes and went blind. It looked like a chubby crescent moon, it probably would have been a clearer sight with proper glasses. :v:
Perfect conditions in Dundee for it... was also lucky enough to capture some plane contrails across the sun! Imagine if I'd caught the plane? Talk about a once in a lifetime shot. [t]http://i.imgur.com/WuPhEA4.jpg[/t]
Here's what it looked like for me. Missed the eclipse because of clouds though.
People on Facebook keep sharing this old fake photo "from the ISS" and going like "wow so beautiful".
Oh god tell me about it
Apparently it was at around 12pm around here. I was outside the whole time and noticed fuck all and yet it was sunny and mostly clear sky. Other people talked about it though so im really not sure
Weather forecast for my city: The eclipse was at 11.
It was amazing here in the Faroe Islands, once in a lifetime experience for sure.

The video / photos that the BBC managed to get from a plane further north than the Faroe Islands is really impressive. I shall post a link if I can find it.
It was amazing here in the Faroe Islands, once in a lifetime experience for sure.
Wait we have members from the Faroe Islands? For some reason that surprises me.
It was amazing here in the Faroe Islands, once in a lifetime experience for sure.
Wasn't it a total eclipse for you guys? That must have been incredible. It was only 85% covered where I am.
