Don't forget that Apple's stock will plummet if that happens. Hopefully they're reading this news so they can test their phones before they become ticking time bombs. Thankfully from all the news I've seen from this, nobody got hurt.
I got one a couple of days ago. Dunno if I'll bother with the recall though. It's probably the smart thing to do but dunno if it's worth the hassle.
One of the number one reasons I love LG right now, their dedication to removable batteries. I have a bunch of friends with these and they don't want to get their phones replaced just yet.
i'd be happy with a 2cm thick phone that has a huge removable battery and a qwerty keyboard oh wait, we're past those times :suicide:
Can't help you with the keyboard or the thickness, but The battery thing is still relevant these days. LG G5 for reference. [editline]2nd September 2016[/editline]
I got one a couple of days ago. Dunno if I'll bother with the recall though. I mean for most things I wouldn't bother (it took a combination of my screen not working, my audio jack being fucked up, and my charger not working for me to finally use my Note 5's warranty), but this is a fucking exploding battery that can a.) destroy your phone, b.) fuck you over if you're out in the middle of nowhere, and c.) actually harm you.
Its literally a bomb in your pocket
I have a phone with a non removable battery (I took apart one I broke and its sealed into the phone hardcore) I'd rather a higher quality phone at the cost of a removable battery since, by the time you have to replace it anyways you'll have easily gotten a new phone entirely (this isn't to say it means you'll have a high quality phone, but that's the big thing I'd sacrifice) only issue is that you can swap the battery out to keep a fresh one one, and that's fucking awful
I know the risks of Li-ion batteries going runaway. But it seems like it's related to people using dodgy usb-c adapters or cables. I have used all the third party cables that I plan to and only 0.1% of units are affected apparently.
My sister just got one of these, glad she picked the free huge sd card and not the VR headset.
Vr headset? I thought you could only choose an SD card or a fitness tracker
Vr headset? I thought you could only choose an SD card or a fitness tracker
they gave her the choice of a Gear VR, SD card, and a couple other things
Would make a pretty realistic Samsung VR ISIS simulator
Imagine if the battery exploded right next to your fucking face, like when talking to someone. That is gonna be a real ouch.
IMO Korean phones are overpriced. Id go with a Huawei or HTC. Chinese phones have essentially the same hardware for less than half the cost
LGs are not exactly overpriced, but they're meh. I'd go with a Sony. Or better yet, Nexus or Motorola. Xiaomi is also great quality nowadays.
Not everyone wants to buy a new phone when their battery starts dying, Samsung. Still rocking my Note 3 with removable battery -because- it has a removable battery.
LGs are not exactly overpriced, but they're meh. I'd go with a Sony. Or better yet, Nexus or Motorola. Xiaomi is also great quality nowadays.
We'll see how Lenovorola turns out with the next couple releases.
"Best quality" pff, this is all PR to them I bet.
this isn't a recall, my telco told me samsung has right now declared exchanges but haven't told anyone (including telcos) what they're doing i have a note, my options was to leave it there and get a shitty loan phone or go on another plan, it could be months until samsung decide what they're gonna do so im just going to gamble and may waive early if the pixel is being carried on telstra and this exchange programme is still active
I've had mine for 2 weeks now. So far it hasn't exploded.
I've had mine for 2 weeks now. So far it hasn't exploded.
"My phone hasn't exploded yet" said man hospitalized by exploding phone
"My phone hasn't exploded yet" said man hospitalized by exploding phone
Same argument can be said about passwords. "account hasn't been stolen yet, better continue using the same password"
Same argument can be said about passwords. "account hasn't been stolen yet, better continue using the same password"
Well, yes. Both are unwise decisions in the event of a recall or a password leak.
funny how yesterday, when me and dad was looking for a phone to get him, we still saw Note 7 on display for people to try out. and no, he got a Galaxy S6 Edge
LGs are not exactly overpriced, but they're meh. I'd go with a Sony. Or better yet, Nexus or Motorola. Xiaomi is also great quality nowadays.
I'd reccomend Xiaomi, got a Redmi note 3 pro and it's easily the best phone I've had, only issue it doesn't work great in the USA (works flawlessly in Australia and Indonesia from my experiences though). $275 AU for a very quick smartphone (shat all over my HTC one M8) and battery life to go with it, can't complain at all.
Isn't this the same phone that could get bricked just by placing the stylus back upside down?
Isn't this the same phone that could get bricked just by placing the stylus back upside down?
That was the Note 5, and it didn't get bricked, the stylus just got stuck.
Isn't this the same phone that could get bricked just by placing the stylus back upside down?
You're thinking of the Note 6, but I don't know if the note 7 has been tested to do that. And it wouldn't be bricked, it just permanently damaged the pen and the socket.

And the Note 7 has been confirmed that the issue is no longer a thing.

They even fixed that issue silently in later models of the Note 5. The Note 7 is a really good phone regardless of this issue. Hopefully in the future though Samsung will step up their quality control on batteries.
