not to mention the fact that there is no visible liquid road, and we've seen paved roads flowing downhill in Britain.
Problem with dirt roads is that they're really, really shit for everything not four-wheeled. Or going more than 30 km/h.
I crashed my motorcycle on a gravel road before, i'd stick to pavement. I've dealt with softening roads, last year, it was so fucking hot here in Northern Missouri, that you could fry an egg on the hood of a car, i was walking back from the local public swimming pool, and on this one road, the road felt really spongy and sticky under my feet, it was strange. It was an old road too.
because the sun is raining down napalm on us at least that's what it feels like

American roads are built to handle temperature which america faces commonly. British roads are built to handle temperatures which Britain faces commonly.
If you read the entire article it explains this. Not directly but it is explained. Its not exactly about cost, if that tarmac was laid everywhere here it would destroy it self in a usual British winter which is much worse than a minor disruption in a major heatwave. areolop explains it a bit better in his post, go read that if you haven't.
So basically, in places that have have both extreme cold and hot temperatures DO have more expensive pavement.
So basically, in places that have have both extreme cold and hot temperatures DO have more expensive pavement.
Not exactly "more expensive" just different. Where I grew up in Minnesota they had a stretch of highway dedicated to testing new types of pavement in the winter and summer. Those who only experience hot (or cold) weather have different types of pavement than those who have to deal with both seasons.
I once heard that some countries in Europe was using discarded tires to make a type of rubber asphalt, is this still being used and does it have this problem? Anyone know?
They should make roads out of graphene.
passive dick waving from america
didn't see that coming
