• Toast sandwich is UK's 'cheapest meal'
Butter is more expensive to obtain than toasted bread. [editline]16th November 2011[/editline] Again, it ceases to be a sandwich. Because the bread in the middle isn't different to the outer breads. However, if you had a seeded bread in the middle of two white slices, then it may be viable to be a sandwich.
The sandwich in the article had butter, salt and pepper to taste. Eliminate the middle slice and it's cheaper. Hell, just make it salt between two pieces of bread. A salt sandwich. I have been proven wrong.
You did not just... You'd better stay out of Canada, if you know what's good for you.
I read the title "cheapest metal" at first, and I was extremely confused.

WHY does the worst food still exists in the UK when all the nice food countries were invaded by the empire.
There has to be something in the middle. Otherwise it fails to be a sandwich.
Oxygen.
Cheese curds, also known as the cheese that's squeaky.
Is that all it is? You can basically get that in any chippy in the UK anyway, we aren't exactly missing out on much.
oh no he didn't just diss poutine did he?
Why not just eat some cheese on toast instead of what I'm reading as two cold slices of bread with a piece of toast inbetween.
What if you don't have any cheese?

Having just woken up and therefore being rather impressionable, I just had one of these for breakfast. I now feel somewhat ashamed of myself. It was just like eating bread and butter, or buttered toast.
-snip, nevermind- edit: I should try this, I do need some food. edit: brb making toast sandwich edit: I have the toast sandwich, will edit with opinion. edit: :suicide:

[sp]I mean 'higher' as in you'd have to be fucking high to think its a good idea.[/sp]
i'd like to raise a toast to all the scientists involved in this study, without you the world would be an entirely different place.
I've had two of these today so far and needless to say they're...well, it's food.
There has to be something in the middle. Otherwise it fails to be a sandwich.
Air
The bread is buttered in the toast sandwich... margarine in between two buttered pieces of bread.
That actually sounds quite nice, I may try this. [editline]17th November 2011[/editline]
Oxygen.
But due to air already reacting with the bread to cause it to slowly grow fungus then it actually contains the properties of air. Therefore air cannot be a content of the sandwich.
I decided to abandon my usual cream cheese + cucumber sandwich and brought a toast sandwich for my college lunch today. Needless to say I got some weird looks. :v:

Is the toast warm or cold when inside a sandwich?
I tried one of these today. I had the toast warm, though (I seem to recall the original recipe called for cold toast) and...well, what is there to say, really? It's bread, on bread, on bread. Bit of salt and pepper on the middle slice and it's actually OK. I suggest you try it at least once just to see what it's like. It actually tastes like you're eating a sandwich with something worthwhile in it, when you're really only eating more bread.
What the hell is a toastie?
I made this, my god, it was bad. I expected that, as it's British food.
