What a wuss.
Neither were the other kids in that same class
Yeah, but the article doesn't mention any of them being traumatised by it.
I dont know why people think this is funny, sensory overload is a terrible thing.
autistic boy traumatised by good camera work and chocolate syrup, more at 11
This isn't exactly a fair statement. Hypersensory issues that occur with certain forms of autism, such as aspergers for me make certain lacerations absolutely unbearable to watch for me. I almost have a panic attack when I see particularly detailed throat cuts in a movie.
My teacher showed us Jesus Christ Superstar in Year 9 R.E. But in my Wars class we watched the Patriot or something like that and showed a cannon ball taking out a guys leg and my class pissed themselves laughing after someone started joking about it.
There's autistic kid at my school and if you mention the word grapes around him he goes crazy. Like this is a conversation once. *Kid is sitting 2 seats and 1 row down.* *I start talking to my friend* "So yea, I just ordered some grape soda off of amazon." *Kid proceeds to stand up "OH MY GOD STOP IT AGHHHH" *Kid proceeds to try and punch me, but he just makes a limp wrist and barely touches me. *Me and my friend both wonder wtf is going on. i felt this had some relation since we're talking about autistic kids
thats called bullying :)
We did Psycho for our English media project when I was 13. Surprisingly enough, none of our class were traumatised by it. In fact, I think a lot of us (myself included) got into Hitchcock films as a result.
Were you autistic
Reminds me of when my criminal justice teacher use to show Faces of Death (and the sequels) in class, some of the students went to the library on those days because they could not take it. When I think about it my teachers whole class was pretty fucked up, she had a "wall of death" that was covered in crime scene photos and other gore shots. The way she got away with it is that it was a special agreement to provide a college class through the highschool and we all signed special paperwork at the beginning so the rules were different.
