Muslim group with links to extremists boasts of influencing election
A front group for Islamic extremists which wants to let British Muslims fight in Syria has boasted that it is “negotiating with the Tory and Labour leadership” to secure some of its demands.
Muslim Engagement and Development (Mend) has built links with both parties – and been chosen as an “official partner” by the Electoral Commission for May’s poll – after claiming to promote “democratic engagement” by Muslims. However, it is actually a facade to win political access and influence for individuals holding extreme, bigoted and anti-democratic views.
In new recordings heard by this newspaper, Sufyan Ismail, Mend’s chief executive, describes the group’s strategy to act as “kingmaker” in next month’s election and claims it can control as many as 30 seats.
The Muslim vote is worth ten ordinary votes because… we are heavily concentrated in a few areas,” he said. “Anybody who can give any one party 10, 20, 30 seats, like we can, they have to listen to you.
What on earth are they doing?
these extremist minority cause nothing but trouble for the Muslim vast majority
I don't really believe their claims, but still. more garbage that will be thrown around facebook now.
this is a terribly written article that, while it says a lot about how misinformed and idiotic this radical is, drops a fuck-tonne of bombs like

This. Even an idiot can see that the author just wants to rant and make alarmist claims about Muslims without anything real to back it up.
Garbage source, everybody, please disregard.

I'm not sorry for taking a stand against it.
I don't see anything wrong with this? Politicians used to do this all the time with the Irish back in the day.
Ignoring the pretty baseless claims of links to extremists, this is a political pressure group representing its members to parliament by pushing agendas that matter to it. This is how pressure groups work, and is their function. It's an important part of representational democracy. This evil Muslim Manifesto the article talks about is simply about placing restrictions on Islamophobia, an issue that is clearly pretty serious in this country, and treating it the same way as any other form of discrimination.
This article is ridiculous in its stretching of facts to suit it's own agenda. Take this part for example:
“David Cameron recently said that British Jews fighting for the IDF [Israeli army] will not be prosecuted,” Mr Ismail said. “But British Muslims going to Syria fighting against Assad… will definitely face interrogation. Now do you think that if we landed those 20 seats or 30 seats, he [Cameron] would have the audacity to say that to the Muslim community? Not a chance!”
This isn't advocating going off to Syria to fight for ISIS, but rather pointing out the hypocrisy of allowing people to go and fight for the JDF, but not ISIS.

You say minority yet the artile quotes him saying entire communities are under their sway and can produce enough votes to win a seat by force.
We should hate British Muslims because there's a minority who are fuckwits.
We should hate British Christians because there's a minority who are fuckwits.
One is considered acceptable to say by a growing number of Britons. Why is that okay? Who is the real fuckwit here? Sod this, if our country's will is racism then it is madness, and I'll be off to Scotland, where the purple plague seems to have had no effect. Also, so much scaremongering. Farage's campaign hasn't yet come up with a compelling argument without turning it dumb because of his total lack of eloquence. He rants about radicalised Muslims, but he is no more than a politicalised British impression of a redneck.
Telegraph.
Feel free to disregard.
