I saw an advert for it once but never an actual store.
I'm going down to the one in thurrock and going to see if anything is going cheap! Jasun had the right idea!
For those wondering

They should fire their entire marketing department while they're at it.

No wonder I never even heard of this, none of them are even close to me.
I saw them advertised a while ago, but I get most electrical stuff from the supermarket I work at, Sainsburys, because I get discount with them, so I never saw the point of going all the way to Hedge End.
Wow that's sad, the OP getting "winner" ratings. What's so great about so many people losing their jobs? Although the "majority" of them will be found alternate work, there is no guarantee all of them will get employed elsewhere any time soon. I'm not saying Best Buy shouldn't of closed down (it's understandable if a business is running at a loss), but that people take this situation more seriously and realise the consequences of this.
Facepunch: We'll whine about unemployment, but fuck a retailer and everyone employed there because they are just a little bit too expensive.

Yeah, that is the massive downside to this, especially at this time of year. In fact, I'm surprised they're not trying to keep it open this Christmas, seeing as the reason every retail chain had problems with sales last christmas was snow.

There's two more best buys within 50Km(20miles) of me than there is in all of England. :v:
And they serve about 4% of the customers compared to England.
This is exactly the reason why they failed, marketing. Nobody knew they even fucking existed.
Plus they tried to compete with Currys/PC World, which was never going to work. Even they are struggling to make money.

They pretty much all joined together too, Currys, PC World, and Dixons/Currys Digital are all part of the Dixons Retail Group. Alone they probably wouldn't last against Tesco and Asda
The 2 best buys near me are in retail parks shared by PC World, Curry's & Staples. Not to mention PC World and Curry's are much cheaper than BB.
No wonder the Nottingham store had good service but terrible prices.

Nottingham store was great to me, let me return my faulty Asus Transformer twice without any problems.
One reason I like about best buy is that they contains most of the games that I am looking for then other retail stores like Wal-mart, Meijer's and other games that are not that popular (for example the .hack//G.U. games). I want to work there to help repair computers or go to geek squad city and do it over there.

Yeah, I'll admit that I totally forgot they were opening shops over here after they first announced it. I think I saw one advert in a newspaper once which was advertising Best Buy and that's it. Kind of a shame really as there isn't a huge variety of places which sell electricals.
I mean, assuming that's what they sold. Unless I missed it all, they didn't make it very clear they even existed, let alone what they were selling.

Yeah as I said service was great it was just the prices that put me off.
I have and always will hate Best Buy, and this came far before I worked for their chief competitor, RadioShack.
So I say this.
Haha, Best Buy, Haha.
