Muslims must embrace our British values, David Cameron says

There are no "British values" apart from mild biggotry. Every time I hear "What are british values?" asked all I hear in return is something about how immigrants are eroding them. Natives can be just as bad as immigrants when it comes to work as well, many refuse to go to an agency and want a cushy job which is hard to come by. I've worked through an agency and while it may not be the most tantalising prospect I still contributed to the economy.
Me too, I live in El Paso. I'm not making a big fuss over it, I just find it to be an unnecessary nuisance for me to learn Spanish just because they refuse to learn English. There's a lot of businesses that only speak Spanish, and pretty much every single job imaginable requires you to know Spanish for those people who don't know English. It's annoying. If you move somewhere different, you learn their language, don't make them learn yours. That's just not cool.
I notice El Paso is a spanish name.
It seems a bit silly to make that distinction when you live so close to Mexico. Couldn't you move north a bit if it bothers you that much?
I hope you also notice that El Paso is in the US, then.
Barely.

lol, you're acting like the world owes you a cushy job that requires nothing of you.
People speak other languages. Deal with it.
In Canada, it is a legal requirement that all products sold have both English and French labeling.
It makes it nearly impossible for me to get out of bed in the morning because I may stumble into my kitchen and see a bottle of jus d'orange and start crying

That is just horrible!
Here in Texas we have Spanish TV channels and advertisements in Spanish, it is just horrible!
Sometimes I can't fall asleep at night because I worry about the American values being corrupted whenever I see a word in spanish.
I agree that Canada got a very successful immigration, sweden "9million pop" take in 90,000+ and canada "34million pop" take in stunning 250,000+
However Britain and other European countries take in way more Muslims. Cultures differs from each other.

So what?
Just get to know some Muslim people your view would change of them for the better.
No, that would be admitting defeat against the Islam

"Muslim" is a group of people that come from a specific country now?

Isn't Britain only like 2% Muslim anyway?
muslim can easily embrace our british values by giving them some fish and chips or maybe some tea and crumpets which are the finest british values to embrace
Isn't Britain only like 2% Muslim anyway?
You'd think they'd try to raise their percentage to at least 5% before trying to instate sharia law but nooo
merkel, chancellor of germany said that multiculturalism doesn't work.

it's about time really. let's send the muslims back to the middle east where they belong.

It's funny because that first link is for canada, so it has nothing to do with proving the uk and europe take in the most muslims, and it's also funny because even then its wrong, it shows immigrants by country, country =/= religion you tit.

It's not conservatism, he's right, having multiple different cultures operating the way they are just now in britian just causes tension, and a lot of them don't accept they have moved to a new country and don't adapt to the new lifestyle and stick with their old traditions, which in some cases are illegal.
I find it interesting how the populace of Britain frequently criticizes the American government for being discriminatory (which, of course, at certain times is) while things like this occur. Going through Hezzy's and thisispain's argument, there's fine points on both sides, but what didn't seem to come up is that fundamentally - and I know very little about this chap as I'm not involved with British politics - Mr Cameron is going against his own moral set.
In a country where you're to support freedom of speech, religion, etc, you cannot outwardly say "confine to my ideologies." In America, we've got a large amount of nutters running around spouting insane things at people and causing damage; but until they cross the line between speech and inciting violence, there's no issue.
Brits have significantly fewer freedoms for the press (if I'm not mistaken, your government still reserves the right to censor whatever it chooses pre and post publication, does it not?) and speech. You deport/ban people from your country who disagree with your values, like the WBC, for instance.
By "your", I'd like to clarify I'm saying your government's. Cameron's statements are inherently hypocritical, they are.
I'd like to clarify David Cameron gained power by forming the coalition, so his ridiculous changes in no way represent the general population. And most people I know hate his guts.

You say it like a bad thing.
You say it like a bad thing.
Of banning people for things that could be misconstrued as mildly offensive at worst that he views as obscenely racist?
Yeah dude that is a pretty bad thing.
Wow, this is pretty dumb.
The reason the world is great is because of different cultures and values. Sure, some of them can be backward (An example being treatment of women) but that doesn't represent the whole majority. The fact is, I've seen more foreign workers than ones from this country, and I seriously doubt that's down to them "taking our jobs". Secondly, I seriously doubt many foreigners want to live here. It's more down to their country being fucked and places like America and the United Kingdom being last resorts. You can't just tell someone "Hey I don't like your religon, please stop that". There are many diffferent religons, and everyone has a right to what they want. This is reversing that.
I have to disagree with you on that second part.
Where I work, everyone is scottish.
And they've came here, that means they obey our rules and laws, just like they would expect of us if we visited their country.
