I quoted the wrong person.
But the point still stands to whoever I tried to quote.
The workers say they were opened fire on, thats why the workers used force and who in the actual fuck ropes their soldiers down into a fucking angry mob ?
Not trained commandos who want 0 innocent deaths.
Hey BurnEmDown I want to see you defend Israel's pure defiance of over 65 UN resolutions.
he has an alestorm avatar don't even bother
You're point being? What the hell does that have to do with being a peaceful protester? What does being shot at have to do with sticking with non-violent protest? The point of non-violent protest is to NOT BE VIOLENT, no matter how much violence is directed towards you.
Too many people are willing to kill a man in the name of a belief while not many are willing to die to spite theirs.
You do realize that only twenty out of 600 people actually fought back, right?

The commandos could go non-violent act on the workers, did they ? No. The workers could go non-violent protest on the soldiers, did they ? No.
Why don't you say that the commandos should have gone the non-violent way ?
Poor Israelites.

Because they're commandos, they're expected to do such things. No where did the commandos say that when they were going to land on the ship that they would hand out flowers and ask them kindly to leave. They did however use non-lethal force until their lives were at extreme risk.
The protesters repeatedly said they were non-violent, yet they resorted to violence. Non-violence is expected of those who say as such, and they didn't follow through. Had they sat their after being fired upon and did nothing, and those 9 people still died, it would have sent out a message 10,000x more powerful than what they had done that day.

From the video it appeared to be more than 20, but my point being is that they attacked in a large enough majority that it completely disrupted whatever message they were trying to portray.
It only takes one rotten egg to spoil the soup.
"Fans cannot be punished for the deeds of their governments."
LOL! Anyone sense hypocrisy?
I think it's stupid how one Israeli man says something like "this is cultural terrorism," and then this thread title says "Israel calls it 'cultural terrorism.'"
I'm not siding with either camp at the moment but I'd just like to point that out. Because this man mentioned in this thread speaks for the entire nation of Israel.
Israelis are throwing the word "terrorism" around an awful lot.
Israel is throwing the word "terrorism" around an awful lot.
So do Americans. It's stupid.
Ok, now you are just trolling .

No they didn't use non-lethal force until their lives were at risk, the winesses say the commandos opened fire before they boarded.

Says one side of the story. In any event they were not firing live rounds at the moment of boarding, which is when the commandos were attacked.
They were non violent before they got opened fire on.
That doesn't mean shit to non-violent protest.

this isn't even a non violent protest
this is a blockade run
No it doesn't, there are israeli jews and then there are jews who are against israel's acts. Just because some jews are considered bad doesn't mean every jew on the planet is bad.
do you even know what the word majority means
If by majority I mean large group of people then yes I do.

They said that they were going to do so in a non-violent matter, and all of the ships in the flotilla save this one did so.

Not one side, so says over (600-9) sides of the story.

that's not what majority means
go read a dictionary
all of the ships save this one didn't get shot at
If by majority I mean large group of people then yes I do.

Majorty doesn't mean a large group of people. It means a larger group of people than others in a universal group.
Not one side, so says over (600-9) sides of the story.
All of which come from 3rd part sources, thus are not completely valid.

Majority: the greater part or number; the number larger than half the total
So a majority of the people on the upper decks participated in the attacking of the commandos.

Looks that way to me.
And why one earth would they only shoot at the one ship and treat it completely different than the others?

Ok I won't argue with you anymore and I quoted so you can't edit.

No shit you did, because from What I see a MAJORITY of the people ON THE UPPER DECKS (not the whole fucking ship) were participating in the attacking of the commandos.

There are max 30 people on that video, out of 600..
Shut the fuck up.

If that's what's on the upper decks that are visible than I am not wrong am I?
no point in arguing with him, if he can't comprehend simple things like that.
no point in arguing with him, if he can't comprehend simple things like that.
My point.
One would think that if they merely turned the other cheek and stuck with pacifism all the way, it would promote their cause at showing how "brutal" the Israelis are, but given that they fought back, and fought back hard, they're going to be just as bad as the commandos in many eyes.
Complete non-cooperation probably would have been very effective.
Then don't say a word if you don't have a nice source of evidence.
It was shown on the top rated channel on friday's "magazin", so there wasn't any real reason why not to believe it.
Iran's navy offers to escort Gaza ships
Official: Elite Revolutionary Guards are prepared to intervene
updated 8:15 a.m. CT, Sun., June 6, 2010
TEHRAN - Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards are ready to provide a military escort to cargo ships trying to break Israel's blockade of Gaza, a representative of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday.
"Iran's Revolutionary Guards naval forces are fully prepared to escort the peace and freedom convoys to Gaza with all their powers and capabilities," Ali Shirazi, Khamenei's representative inside the Revolutionary Guards, was quoted as saying by the semi-official Mehr news agency.
Any intervention by the Iranian military would be considered highly provocative by Israel which accuses Iran of supplying weapons to Hamas, the Islamist movement which rules Gaza.
The Guards, with their own navy, air force and command structure separate from the regular armed forces, are seen as fiercely loyal to the values of the Islamic Republic.
"If the Supreme Leader issues an order for this then the Revolutionary Guard naval forces will do their best to secure the ships," Shirazi said. "It is Iran's duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza."
Last Monday Israeli troops killed nine activists on board one ship in a convoy trying to deliver aid to Gaza, sparking international outrage, especially in Muslim countries.
Another ship was boarded on Saturday and pro-Palestinian activists have promised more as they challenge the blockade imposed four years ago with the stated aim of stopping arms getting to Hamas.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will continue to stop ships reaching the shore and creating "an Iranian port in Gaza," a reference to Iran's support for Hamas.
Israel need to grow a pair and stop shooting everyone.
