They boarded a ship to defend the blockade, with the intent of inspecting the ship and its cargo, not taking control of it completely.
3 hours late, but you should know that Israel's mission was public, they went specifically to capture the ships and take them in to port. It was right in one of the first Israeli spokesperson's statements.
What I meant was that their goal wasn't taking control of the ship and keeping the ship on their control permanently, they boarded the ship in order to defend the blockade, which would mean they were boarding the ship in a defensive manner.
What if he was first shot in the chest, and then 4 times in the head to make some sort of statement or scare the volounteers? im having a hard time believing he was shot randomly so many times in the head. However it happened this is just awful :(
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/10245176.stm [release]Israeli troops have taken control of an aid ship trying to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military says soldiers boarded the Irish-owned vessel from the sea and did not meet any resistance. It says the ship is now being taken to the Israeli port of Ashdod. There has been no word from those on board. It comes days after nine people died in clashes when Israel troops boarded a Turkish aid ship, triggering international condemnation. There are five Irish and six Malaysian pro-Palestinian activists, plus several crew, on the Rachel Corrie. Israel says it will transfer the aid to the Gaza Strip by land after checking the cargo for banned items. It has blockaded Gaza since 2007, when the Islamist Hamas movement seized control of the territory.[/release] Just like the boardings of the other 5 ships who didn't have violent terrorist supporters, everything went peacefully and no one was hurt.
Good job.
Glad to hear at least this one went peacefully.
phew
Lovely there was no violence. But this is still an aid ship. I don't understand what gives them the right to halt an aid ship. I can understand the boarding - it's to check for anything... harmful? I don't comprehend them controlling the ship completely though.
They are merely taking it to Ashdod port for a checkup, and they will then transfer the supplies to Gaza.

Militaries aren't in the habit of just taking your word for things.

Hahaha I love how butthurt terrorist sympathizers are rating me boxes.
Hahaha I love how butthurt terrorist sympathizers are rating me boxes.
Nobody's supporting terrorists. Why have you suddenly reverted to slander?
Hahaha I love how butthurt terrorist sympathizers are rating me boxes.
you deserve even more
I didn't say terrorist, I said terrorist sympathizers, as in people who thought that what the terrorist supporters on the Marmama was doing was completely fine.

I say again, don't use the term Terrorist sympathisers. Not everyone agrees with Israel but it's not an ultimatum, most people hate Hamas just as much and just want to see aid get to Gaza. It also needlessly attacks them and makes you look like an extremist on the other side.
Claiming the people who attacked the IDF on the ship aren't terrorist supporters is just absurd, given all the evidence showing that they were willing to martyr themselves for the cause, become Shahids, which is basically what a terrorist suicide bomber hopes to achieve.
Hahaha I love how butthurt terrorist sympathizers are rating me boxes.
You disgust me.

This ship had a lot of respectable people aboard, and generalizing the entire crew based on snippets of video from a couple members is inappropriate.

You love pulling stuff out of your ass dont you.
Totally non-terroristic chanting right there:

Despite the agendas some of them had, the ship itself had a good goal and it's easy to see why people supported that goal. No-one supports the martyr attitude and very few people support them if their goal was to get themselves killed. Even if they truly were terrorist sympathisers, you wouldn't call them that because it's an obvious personal attack and makes you look like an extremist yourself. Just don't do it.
Well I was only putting them in their place.
Totally non-terroristic chanting right there:
I could chant the same thing does that make me a terrorist? There’s a huge difference between rhetoric and actions.
No, you were being a douche. You don't need to attack them regardless of what they have said or believe. Putting them in their place is only done with refuting everything they say, not calling them names.
Well I was only putting them in their place.
..... Wow.
I believe terror is to incite fear and mass panic within a landmass, isn't that exactly what media does? Boxes, you need them.
Well did you hear about the freedom of speech? I was attacked here several times of being a nationalist bigot who won't accept valid evidence. I'm sick of that, some people here are just insane.
freedom of speech =/= calling people something they're not. personal attacks doesn't make you look like a good debater [editline]12:50PM[/editline] the opposite.
