i love synchronization. i just have to manage one library. i have so much fucking music that managing different devices becomes an absolute head-ache for me. with itunes i can just pick a list of music and sync it without having to have any fuss about it. drag and drop is fine for files, but if you want to manage album art, the proper MP3 tags, duplicates drag and drop becomes a fucking chore
iTunes isn't the only player that supports iDevice syncing
iTunes isn't the only player that supports iDevice syncing
why would i bother with anything else
why would i bother with anything else
I'll stick with this bloated player that doesn't even support flac because cba
I'll stick with this bloated player that doesn't even support flac because cba
you're having a go at me for a media player? lol grow up and i don't play flac
Never even bothered to mess with Ping, let alone much else in iTunes other than the sync button. That program is a living nightmare to work with anyway, with how slow it can get...
you're having a go at me for a media player? lol grow up and i don't play flac
Who says i'm having a go at you? Just stating that I think iTunes is a mediocre player even if you do have an iDevice
Who says i'm having a go at you? Just stating that I think iTunes is a mediocre player even if you do have an iDevice
it works fine for me i can see why people might not like it, but it works just fine. it might be bloated but it's a solid bloat.
This. Foobar2k is my favorite thing ever.
And it does have an iDevice sync plugin. But it's kinda fucked thanks to it not keeping up with iOS properly. It worked on 4.x but I can't seem to get it working on 5.x properly (the music is sent but the library does not recognise it somehow).
iTunes is fine on mac / iDevices.
iTunes sucks all around, people need to learn to use proper media players e.g. Foobar, a music player which has much wider support of file formats and doesn't take hours to start up or cache one's library when they have a lot of songs.
Foobar or Winamp. Both support syncing (and flac ;)
ITT: Media player Connoisseurs [editline]14th September 2012[/editline] I mean snobs.
I like Songbird for music.
what "bloat" do you talk about when referring to iTunes
I use spotify but at times that is tedious, now everyone is convincing me to use foobar fucking hell
Foobar, a music player which has much wider support of file formats and doesn't take hours to start up or cache one's library when they have a lot of songs.
Seriously.
Seriously. And that's not even all of them, just the ones I bothered downloading.
never even came across 3/4 of these let alone needed to play them
My whole collection is just .wav and .mp3 i think
Don't try to enter a market when it's hot if you're big. Try to enter it if it's not.
never even came across 3/4 of these let alone needed to play them
You probably have. A substantial number of those are proprietary video game media formats.
The fact that iTunes takes 10x as long as f2k takes to boot up is more than enough to put me off.
Winamp too bloated? Try Foobar2000. Specifically made to be a low-footprint, highly customisable media player.
I don't like Foobar2000, and Foobar2000 doesn't like me. Mutual disagreement.
I'm on a Mac and iTunes is still fairly bad IMO. I love Spotify though.
I'm on a Mac and iTunes is alright. I love Spotify more though. Really though, it's not the best out there, but it does the job. (Except on windows, that's just the sluggiest piece of shit software I can think of). Also syncing is awful, I agree. Wasn't really talking about that as much as its music playing capabilities though.
Winamp too bloated? Try Foobar2000. Specifically made to be a low-footprint, highly customisable media player.
you forgot micspammer.
