Too bad that it was dumbed down and made shitty by its dev. team.

I blame EA, not Maxis.
Wait didn't they disprove global warming like a week or two ago?
Why?
Just fill the fucking place up with solar panels and provide the whole world electricity.
Should of done this many years ago, hell should of made it so every house built comes equipped with plenty of solar panels, but they won't because the companys that make money from charging shit prices for power wouldn't be needed as much.
It's the same circle of shit, old rich greedy bastards want more money and cry if they might lose any, even if it's for the good of the fucking planet, they don't care about the planet, they are old, why should they give a shit if they are killing the planet, they won't have to deal with it, we will.
Wait, that might lead to a flourishing african civilization, THAT CAN'T FUCKING HAPPEN!!!:911:

Wow
Wait they cant even get desalinated water for the people to DRINK how are they going to grow an entire forest, I think you just made this shit up.

Because it's clearly some monolithic conspiracy by a conglomerate of Rich Old Christian White Men who want to destroy the Earth.
Solar panels are very inefficient, and that's talking on a good day.
fuck the world, im moving to somewhere where nobody will find me and i wont find anybody.
I will live among the woodland creatures, in nothing but a deerskin coat i made.
I'll never have any troubles again.
5000 years ago it was full of forests, get the fuck out.
No, the Middle East and Europe were full of Forests, the Sahara has always been there. At least 5000 years ago.
i bet the scientist is actually named pardot kynes
I blame EA, not Maxis.
I blame the Jews.
While doing this stupid idea, people will realize that this was a mistake.
On one of the de-construction projects filed, a strange new material will be found.
This material was found to be a very reliable energy source.
What is this material you ask?
SPICE

Yeah, link is here: http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686?paged=60

Not enough Sandworms.
Even if there were, Asians or Africans would hunt it to extinction for a useless part of their anatomy, claiming consuming it is an aphrodisiac.
Yeah, how about we do a test run on Mars first. At least that way we could walk away if we screw it up.

Nigerians will eat them to gain their power

No you won't. There's no Facepunch in the woods.
Nigerians will eat them to gain their power
Then an Emperor Sandworm comes along?
This would be awesome. :P :clint:
That's not a bad idea, locusts will probably fuck it up though, they ruin everything
By locusts do you mean black people...?
it's a much better idea to place solar panels, they're planning this to reduce CO2 emissions. Solar panels will reduce CO2 production because it's a 100% clean energy source
We should wait for panels able to exploit more than 50 percent of the received power first.
hey lets save the world by taking a shit on the already most fucked up continent, also destroy the amazon
I say do it when you can get the price tag down enough to not crash the whole world economy (again/even more/etc) and so that we won't lose the jungle.
This man speaks the truth. I lost my wife and my job because of those damn locusts.
Loucusts raped my mother, and killed my father.

I wonder just how much it would cost to fill the sahara with solar panels, and what effects it would have.
That, and how much it would cost to maintain them.
2 trillion a year could be better spent getting to other planets, or with that much cash even other star systems. That should definitely be done before experiments on our only planet.
Solar panels in the desert would be worn away by the blowing sand. Constant maintanence would be required.
I want to see it done.
I'm not saying it's the best course of action but to me it's by far the most interesting.
I think there are far better ways to leech $1 trillion / year.
So...rainforest in Africa, or rainforest in South America?
I'd go for South America every time.
