Don't fucking tell me what I'm gonna use, Joe!
That's just statistics. The majority of non-enterprise PC consumers typically don't install alternative browsers. That's why Internet Explorer still has so much market share even though it's so far behind the edge.... I mean curve.
Please tell me I wasn't the only one who read the title and thought Mirror's Edge had been bought by MS and panicked.
Foxes are cool, fictional fire foxes are really cool. As a branding its really cool and imaginative.
Yeah, real imaginative, like all the other animal nicknames this open-source stuff always gets. I'm surprised they also didn't make the name a cutesy recursive acronym somehow, because that's really popular with that crowd, too. They think they're being clever when they do that.
Please tell me I wasn't the only one who read the title and thought Mirror's Edge had been bought by MS and panicked.
I'm pretty sure you are literally the only one who thought that.
This is just as bad as them hoping people would refer to the Xbox One as "The One." Instead they just got Xbone.
I get why they've called it this. Surface? Edge? Windows? It all kind of fits.
I'm pretty sure you are literally the only one who thought that.
No kidding. Where did that thought process even come from like what
I get why they've called it this. Surface? Edge? Windows? It all kind of fits.
wall to wall security issues
wall to wall security issues
Sort of a universal problem in some form or another for all the major operating systems right now.
Re-branded windows firewall - Microsoft Door
Windows firewall works just fine if you know how to use it, the problem is it's proper use is pretty complex.
If at the next convention/conference/showing they don't call it "cutting edge" or make any knife jokes, i'm going to die
They're going to replace it with something edgier, blacker and redder.
psssh...nothin personnel...kid...
Might as well have called it something equally as stupid like Microsoft Extreme.
*COUGH* I think you'll find that's pronounced Xtreme
It goes with the other open source projects like thunderbird, apache (with its feathers and all) and more.
Thunderbird is a Mozilla project and was named that because of Firefox. But I see what you mean.
In the context of Microsoft the name "spartan" would've been more associated with Halo than an internet browser
They've already gone half way with Cortana, they might as well stick it all the way in.
In the context of Microsoft the name "spartan" would've been more associated with Halo than an internet browser
Maybe for people familiar with games, but that's a minority of Windows users when you look at their whole userbase.
I always liked the name "Spartan Project" in the 300 context...the less popular Spartan against the overwhelming force of Chrome/Firefox. :v:
wall to wall security issues
Oh god it's even in the foundation
Re-branded windows firewall - Microsoft Door
Desktop, trash bin, these guys have seriously just been naming a ton of shit after things in their office haven't.. they Oh Jesus no

So how does a car fit in all this.
also called edge maybe?
Internet Explorer is such a simple name. Old people everywhere are going to be so confused when you tell them that they use the edge to browse the internet now. Like why is this change even necessary
Probably because IE makes everybody think of how shitty IE was.
and this is a red panda [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/50/RedPandaFullBody.JPG/1280px-RedPandaFullBody.JPG[/t]
Red pandas are adorable. My local zoo breeds more of them than anywhere else in the world.
Red pandas are adorable. I wonder if it'll have any cool oob development features that trump chrome/firefox.
We need to domesticate those adorable fuckers asap.
They're already friendly, if you feed them. They're a bit like raccoons, but better-tempered.
