I can understand how some people feel let down, but you have to remember that some old people are still using Internet Explorer and only know it as the Internet. Some of them will probably think their internet is gone without that iconic 'e'.
The design is very Metro-esque. But it's clean and looks efficient, which is all I look for in a browser. This could turn out to be great, but it could turn out to be shit. Only time and the release of Win10 will tell. [editline]29th April 2015[/editline]
Internet Explorer is such a simple name. Old people everywhere are going to be so confused when you tell them that they use the edge to browse the internet now. Like why is this change even necessary
Internet Explorer has pretty much become known as the worst browser available. Microsoft needs a refresh with their browser software, and a rebrand is the perfect way to do it.
should come with a free copy of Hatred
What is going to happen to Internet Explorer-tan now? [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bc/Aizawa_Inori.jpg[/t]
Firing squad.
[t]https://mozorg.cdn.mozilla.net/media/img/firefox/desktop/index/animations/firefox-logo.bee1d85af18f.png[/t] And naming your browser after a flaming animal isn't?
But firefox rolls off the tongue nicely, it's nice to say.
Do you mind explaining?
"Edge"
Internet Explorer is such a simple name. Old people everywhere are going to be so confused when you tell them that they use the edge to browse the internet now. Like why is this change even necessary
Because, even though Internet Explorer hasn't been shit for a few years, and is actually quite good now, everyone still thinks it's shit because it's still called Internet Explorer. [editline]30th April 2015[/editline]
"Edge"
that d looks like an a though
Because, even though Internet Explorer hasn't been shit for a few years, and is actually quite good now, everyone still thinks it's shit because it's still called Internet Explorer. [editline]30th April 2015[/editline] that d looks like an a though
Except for the fact that it is still shit in many ways. I still have to use it on a daily basis, and it still doesn't stack up to it's competition. Is it as bad as it used to be? Not nearly. Does it even match its competition? No.
We need to domesticate those adorable fuckers asap.
Russia actually tried to do this, so much that there were entire farms dedicated to breeding them, but for some reason their coats turned a brown and so no one wanted them or wanted their pelts. Now there's a ton of foxes in Russia that need a home...
Why the fuck didn't they call it REACH GOD DAMN IT?
Spartan was such a cooler and more Internet Browser name.
I can't wait for a Hatred theme to come out for it.
You know, I think what they meant with the name was "the cutting edge". As in the latest and newest. Though I do like all the other explanations which are much more entertaining.
Huh [t]https://www.dropbox.com/s/w8phccqevkhm63g/Edge%20Lgoo.png?dl=1[/t]
Microsoft eaGe

After sitting with the name Edge for a couple days, it sounds alright.
The edge cuts so deep.
The edge is probably dull.
Internet Explorer is such a simple name. Old people everywhere are going to be so confused when you tell them that they use the edge to browse the internet now. Like why is this change even necessary
That's why the icon is still familiar.
