many cops abuse their power. he better be prepared to be looked down on for that.
his reasoning is stupid. all roman catholics are united through a common set of rules and dogma. the only thing that ties all atheists together is their lack of belief. because it's such a loose connection it's really REALLY dumb to say that r/atheism is somehow representative of all atheism.
Everyone who is atheist is like /r/atheism.

I'm an atheist and I don't even browse Reddit, stop perpetuating this bullshit.
Jeez what a quality post. Really, you have been here since 2006
yeah it wasn't meant to be a personal attack and i'm sorry if it was unclear. i was using his logic of "if you attach this label you better accept the baggage"
Isn't this what /r/Atheism was made for?

I'm sure he realized before you decided to feel the need to have some attempt at childish verbal diarrhea.
And the radicals of ANY belief or movement affect its total reputation, are you fucking retarded? Many people frown on feminism because of a select few feminist radicals who greatly exaggerate what the movement's about, you see people criticize religions because someone decides to pray instead of seek medical attention for their children, etc. even when the subject isn't anywhere near such on a larger scale.
He's making a very clear point that people will most likely always choose to blame the many rather than the few. What's so hard to understand about that?

if you read his post you would notice that he was using that phrase as an example of generalization

people who frown on feminism because of "radicals" are dumb too. feminism is not a singular unified entity. it's a very huge and diverse movement with many many fringe groups who all have their own ideas of how to advance equality for women. people who adhere to specific religious denominations, ie the catholic church, do so of their own free will and by doing so they acknowledge they are associating with a single group that has a clearly defined platform of what they believe. atheists and feminists (barring specific groups ofc) have none of these things.
A church isn't just a place to worship. It's also a place to organize a community. That's the bigger role religion serves that people tend to flock to. So I guess an "atheist church" would be a community center.
"Community" is the rootword of "Commune", which is a tenant of Communist dogma. "Communist" also has the same rootword.
Therefore, these Athiest "Community centers" are really little more than fronts for Marxist revolutionaries bent on destroying the fabric of American society and replacing it with their own insane, oppressive ideology. We cannot rest until each and every one of these nests of Leninist treason have been stamped out.

If anyone else wants to make yet another post showing they didn't read the OP, don't be surprised if you get banned for it.
The funny thing about this thread is that this has happened on Sensationalist Headlines before.
With the exact same title and reaction and everything :v:

Well atleast we're consistent :v:
Am I the only one that sees this as pointless and self indulgent? I'm not really religious in any way but I don't feel the need to go to a special building to show everyone how I don't believe in something.
