You don't have to be a conservative to hate Trudeau. I'm generally pretty progressive and I hate the guy because progressive social policies are the last thing we should be concerned about right now. Fix the economy first please.
Progressive social policies are easier to manipulate compared to financial policy. One is selecting a cabinet of like-minded individuals, the other is like trying to steer a battleship.
how do you think politics work? do you think he's getting the minister of finance to work on affirmative action or what
Depends on the circumstances. In the US, I doubt Obama could have simultaneously passed sweeping drug law reforms or abortion rights changes at the same time as Obamacare due to a lack of political capital. However I doubt this is an issue in Canada which uses a parliamentary system.
This is the guy who brought gender discrimination back "because it's 2015"(apparently because it's been too long since it was supported so shamelessly???), supported the TPP, and named "gamergate" as a public enemy. but he said a geeky thing, guys, he checks out! The only reason you might dislike him is because you're a filthy conservative!
Really? Can you cite those accusations? It's not that he "said a geeky thing", more that he showed to have understanding of a complicated technical topic. Furthermore in all appearances I've seen of him his stances have seemed reasonable and progressive.
erm call me uninformed but I got the impression that a lot of canadas problems are due to the conservative asshats basically blocking all reforms including diversification and immigration which resulted in major social problems, no?
No, it's because the Conservatives banked our whole economy on oil, which tanked. It has nothing to do with their immigration or "diversification" policies. And our gas prices are so shit because the Liberals sold off the government's stake in what was once the state oil company, Petro Canada, back in the late '90s and thus lost the ability to regulate gas prices. Guess what happened then? They fucking skyrocketed. Even now oil's at $40/barrel and gas costs as much as it did when it was at $140/barrel because the gas stations know that they can fuck us and nobody will stop them.
Hey our glorious hat, can we borrow Justin for a bit? Thx America
you can keep him
Did he ever actually answer the question about ISIL or did he do that to try and get out of answering the real question?
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/dont-get-me-started-trudeau-gives-quick-quantum-computing-lesson/article29649330/
The prime minister then went on to answer questions about the Islamic State and the Supreme Court ruling on Metis rights among other weightier matters.

Progressive social policies are easier to manipulate compared to financial policy.
Except that financial policy and progressive social policies are so interconnected one is essentially the other in terms of a country's budget.
What?
What?
Generally speaking in terms of a country's budget you can't have one without the other and both will significantly impact each other. As such, while it is often beneficial to keep the two separated, the sheer interaction between the two and the way they influence each other means that you're looking at steering the same battleship in both cases.
People are pretending like he just gave the cure for cancer or something. This is basic computer knowledge imo.
