I received a detention for being maybe 10 seconds late to class, received a 2 hour long detention. I skipped it twice and received an ISS I was told that if I skipped the ISS i'd be fined. When I was in highschool (2001-05) Even so much as a simple hug was considered public display of affection, which got you either ISS or OSS (in-school suspension or OUT of school) OSS = 3 days of non excusable absences, and not allowed to make up any work you missed. So all classwork and homework was counted as a 0. Zeros are a nice way to bring your average down. Rack up 9 unexcused absences and they take that semester's credits away, effectively making you repeat the grade. Missing a day of school without an actual Doctor's note was an unexcused absence. I say missing a day, but it was counted for each class. If you showed up to a class but not to the other 5, then only in those 5 classes would you have an absence I went to school in Tennessee. The people who run those middle TN Schools are a bunch of fucking morons like you wouldn't believe

I just can't believe schools can make you stay after for 2 hours or kick you out of school for a couple days for simply showing that you care for someone. And I mean simple kisses. I don't support people making out in the hallways or like feeling each other up but it is quite a bit unfair to those who keep it tame.

What a waste of time and effort, there's nothing wrong with this kind of incident that requires police action. Really, I don't see the need for any action, the more people acting pleasant towards each other the better, I say.

Before class in the morning you can't even use a staircase without coming across 1-2 couples making out. Like on every staircase.
