Woah, every active user has probably spent atleast 50$ on Steam, and that's like 150 000 000 $ for Valve
They have to pay some money back to the company, they still pull a large profit from it however.
Sucks even more that I have an immature 12 year old steam name. I hope we get to change them soon. I'd pay :10bux:
Just use a nickname, god damn.
I think this is the 30 million registered accounts on Steam. WoW has something like 8 million active accounts.
How many of them are vac banned or inactive?
How many of them are vac banned or inactive?
I'd say about 3-5 millions.
That's over 3/4 of population of Poland and 4/3 of Romania.
Quite an accomplishment, Valve.
Been using the service for just over three years now (I'm sure others have a lot longer, though) and I don't know what I would do without it.
How many of them are vac banned or inactive?
None. The report says 30 active accounts. All accounts put together are probably a lot more.
It's 3 accounts for every person in sweden.
Okay Valve, now how much of those are new accounts being made after people being randomly reported by 12 year olds for their hats in tf2 being disabled.
that's almost 2 accounts for every person in The Netherlands

What is this digit stuff people keep mentioning?
And how would I go about finding mine out?
That's half the population of Britain. (I think)
Jesus shit.
And it's 1/10th the population of the US. Hell, definitely more than the population of some nations entirely.
Valve has done something miraculous.
When i registered there we're only about 7 million users, what a growth.

Which is a DRM system that doesn't fuck the customer in the ass.
Too bad I won't enjoy it much longer :(
And all this without intrusive DRM, and with amazing customer support.

I emailed Gabe Newell and Ubisoft for a statement to help me with a dissertation i'm writing on Digital Media.
Sent email last saturday, and got a reply on last sunday from Gabe himself, with a joke about Episode 3 being delayed because of literal pirates.
Got an automated response from Ubisoft telling me that my question was non-technical, and I wasn't a member of the press, so I was not privy to such information.
No intrusive DRM. What are you talking about ?! It takes my brother around a month to get his games back because of the stupid account system and all the account hacking. It's all good with no CD Keys and cds but it's bullshit when it comes to the fucking internet system too. Its not even like your're buying your games any more , its like you are renting them.

You brother got hacked or he just told his password to some scammer?

Not Steam's fault he can't keep his shit together. As far as I am concerned Steam has worked perfectly for me ever since I got an account back in 2006. Offline mode has always worked for me, and Steam support has always responded within 1-2 days and solved the problem before the week was over.
Besides I didn't really comprehend your post. What do you mean that the DRM is intrusive; you didn't really explain yourself at all. Having an account hacked is more of a support issue than a Steam issue. As far as I am concerned, Steam is the best content delivery system on the planet, and it's quite nearly as good as buying a game disk a few years ago. It's certainly better than buying physical games now with developers pushing the envelope on their DRM practices.
