I remember when everyone hated steam when it was first released..
They've achieved a lot since I started using Steam in Summer '05.
Worth the weight hurr hurr
Anyway, Steam rules
Every time Valve talks about growth and sales increase and such they always have preposterously high percentages which are never below 100%
Not to mention that one time when a third party title on steam had a 36000% sales increase because they had a sale in steam.
Was that the introversion sale? The Introversion sale saved that indie company from bankruptcy.
No, it was in 2009. See this.
Wow okay, 38 million PS3s have been sold worldwide.
Jesus Christ.

42 million Xbox 360s. Holy shi'it.

Hahah yes, according to the OP it's the sixth year in a row that they get over 100% growth in sales.
Shit's crazy.
If this keeps up PC gaming will very soon(if it isn't already) going to surpass console gaming.

But at least 10.5 million of those are broken and thus they make them buy it again (The free replacement offer only lasts for 2 years) and thus the number is so high.
How many of them are vac banned or inactive?
http://www.vacbanned.com/view/statistics
Says 427564 Banned.
I remember when it was like "I wonder if this game will be on Steam?"
Now even most indie games appear on Steam
It says my account is from 2004.
:v:
I'm proud to be a Steamite!
You know, that should be a badge or something.
It feels good to be part of something big.
And all this without intrusive DRM, and with amazing customer support.

you're shitting me right
I got so excited over this I made an artwork. D:

I remember buying the boxed version of HL2 when it came out. That monster came on 5 discs. It's simply amazing how all of that data can simply be transferred over the internet to my computer now... Steam really is great!
Yay for Valve :buddy:
:golfclap:
I like Valve. And Steam.
you're shitting me right
Haven't had a problem with it yet. It took a day or two for a response, and then from there it was almost constant contact until my issue was resolved. I've contacted Blizzard support, and it was the exact same wait time. I've contacted other support services and it's been the same for pretty much everything.
Well, good for gabe newell's wallet, i suppose.
holy shit that's alot of steam accounts!
Remember not all the money earned on Steam goes to Valve.
Damn, good on Valve for offering great services for so long. Really shows you can offer such simplicities and get such good feedback. I remember I didn't even know what Steam was in 07, just knew I needed it for HL2 and CS:S, and look where we are now. Keep truckin', Steam.
(The free replacement offer only lasts for 2 years)
3 years.
What is this digit stuff people keep mentioning?
And how would I go about finding mine out?
It's your Steam ID (basically join date elitism).
It should be in your console.
Steam needs a flag.

On topic: Maybe a sale
Congratulations Valve!
I remember when Valve first released Steam... It was a fucking piece of shit that barely worked! If someone had told me back then that it would reach this point I would have laughed in their face.
