Put yourself in her shoes. You have hundreds of angry nerds on the internet who are alledging that you don't actually like one of your biggest hobbies/interests - not only that, but they're saying that you're only pretending that you like the things you like to get attention. And to top it off, this is only happening because of your gender. Wouldn't you be annoyed, even just a little?
I see your point but there's a high road and a low road. I feel she took the low road by responding the way she did.
I just don't like Aisha Tyler. She's always very painful to listen to. At least Mr. Caffeine was a fun kind of cringe. Doodly-doodly-doo
I see your point but there's a high road and a low road. I feel she took the low road by responding the way she did.
What's the high road, then? staying silent about your frustrations? I would call it the low road to let the assholes harassing her about her "true gamer status" or whatever win by staying silent. To me it sounds more like you just don't want her to speak up for some reason.
I like her. She can play a mean game of cards against humanity:

Instead, Aisha decided to go and write this.
I don't give out my gamertag because I don't want a mess of noob jackholes lining up to assassinate me on XBL. I don't give a shit what you think about my gamerscore.
If it was written out as something like, "I'm not comfortable giving out my gamertag due to people targeting me on XBL for being a fake 'gamer' because of my gender. Personally, I don't care about what you think about my gamerscore." The way it was originally written gives off the impression that she's posturing. She might not have written it like that on purpose but it comes off as sort of cringey and trying to prove a point.
But she is trying to prove a point that she's a gamer and just because she's a woman doesn't mean it's an attention grab.
She could have done it in a different and a more professional way. I'm kind of nitpicking here though. In general, I agree that women get more shit than men when they game.
Why do people hate Aisha Taylor? She was pretty good as the Killer Wolf Bitch in the Boondocks
Aisha Tyler is pretty cool, but the lines Ubisoft gives her for E3 presentations are always awful. Then again, Ubisoft conferences are always awful.
they should get Drew Carrey on here because Drew Carrey will always be better than Aisha. "Now let's play a game called: Games from a hat!"
Oh boy, more footage for the inevitable "E3 2015 in a nutshell" compilations
bring back mr caffeine [editline]3rd June 2015[/editline] damnit late
i wonder how this E3 would look if we did it... with another presenter doodly doodly doodly doodly [editline]3rd June 2015[/editline] hah, there ya go
If there's one person I think of when I think "people who don't like video games," it's Aisha Tyler.
She may play games, but she's a fuckhead by insinuating that all other gamers are kids, hell the entire thing reads like fucking satire, literally attacking everyone, saying they've never done anything "important", etc. All it needed was a "Suck my dick, choke on it" at the end. Hell I love how she brags about voiceacting in not one but TWO games, yes I sure loved you as generic female trooper 2 in halo reach, and as yourself in watch_dogs, which I don't even know where the fuck you were in that game.
should have gotten joel mchale instead. he could have been an buzzed drunk asshole taking the piss on devs.
I dunno, maybe she assumes most gamers will be able to figure out that it's directed towards the kind of people who complain that she's not a real gamer?
Stereotyping is totally okay guys.
You guys realise she's pretty much working off a script that she doesn't get much influence over right? If you take greater notice of the majority of speakers, they're speaking in a pronounced way that doesn't really flow and is filled to the brim with buzzwords. Could she inject a bit more personality into it and possibly risk going off the script a bit? Sure, but possibly there's reasons why she doesn't that we have no insight into.
The way it was originally written gives off the impression that she's posturing. She might not have written it like that on purpose but it comes off as sort of cringey and trying to prove a point.
My problem with it is this in a sense, and less that she's posturing, more her language when doing so. Like for real "noob jackhole" and "assassinate" makes it sound like she's one of those generic disrespectful depictions of gamers on TV shows.
You already have to be trying to get offended by it to be offended by it. If you think that she's stereotyping gamers by titling it "dear gamers," you are just nitpicking.
Well sorry that I'm hard on stereotyping after being told my entire life that I can't be gay cause I'm not flaming as fuck by people using her logic.
So... Ubisoft's on the highway to the Danger Zone?
What? Where in her rant does she ever mention gay people?
Did I say that she did? I said that she used similar logic, "You have to be this way to be a gamer, if you're not you're just a confused idiot kid that has never amounted to anything" "Get a real job, whatever you're doing for money is not a job because I say it's not" "If you disagree with me you're a basement dwelling retard". Wait I take that back, she doesn't remind me of those fucktards, she reminds me of another breed of fucktards, the anita and brianna kind.
Why are people talking about this, is it gamersgate related?
I think Aisha is fine outside of Ubisoft stuff. Shes great in voice acting [editline]3rd June 2015[/editline]
I like her. She can play a mean game of cards against humanity:
And this
Bring back Mister Caffiene
Tom Calancy
I thought bad E3 presentations were part of the experience. Besides nintendo always wins
What happened to that one video of Aisha Tyler saying it was like 420 at E3 and Jeff Gerstmann just yells "HA HA HA, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED" at the camera
What happened to that one video of Aisha Tyler saying it was like 420 at E3 and Jeff Gerstmann just yells "HA HA HA, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED" at the camera
What? I need to see this
What? I need to see this
Not the exact same video, but oh well. Happens at about 12:50
she's good in archer terrible on stage
I honestly couldn't watch the conference last year, it was simply too cringe worthy for me.
Honestly, She's a great speaker in terms of actually talking and confidence, but a good writer should write a script for her or something. Her ad-libbing is pretty bad
