Facebook was never really anything entertaining. It's like a tool, it helps with social activity. Keeping friends from drifting away, chatting, setting up events, sharing trivial shit for a laugh, etc. It is just handy.
I always like the odd Facebook fight, I use it everyday its pretty essential to me and my life, I get informed about whats going on and some good content comes my way most days
Was facebook suppose to be fun in the first place? I dont mean its suppose to be boring, buts its a social site to see what your friends are up to and not a video game.
My only use for it is that, at my mother's our internet is a prepaid, $3 per day thing. Whenever it runs out, we have no internet, but FB and Twitter and other social networks can still be used, so I use FB to chat to steam friends.
I just always have it open so i can chat to people/they can talk to me
I use facebook for chatting to people, organizing events and stalking people. It is almost always open in the background though for the IM side of it.
yeah facebooks pretty dead in my social circle twitter however is the shit now
Threads about anything negative about Facebook always end up in everyone sharing how they're too good for stupid Facebook and how superior they are because they left before the thing that started thirds thread happened
Facebook isn't supposed to be interesting haha it's supposed to keep you in touch with friends and family and what not. It's not so bad for me I guess, after school finished our group created a group page on Facebook and we organise little things every now and then, go have lunch somewhere or watch a movie or whatever it is. Gives more purpose to the site than simply looking at the news feed or responding to notifications. [editline]4th April 2013[/editline]
Facebook is too congested with 9gag memes and stupid "Like if you support", etc.
Then you just have stupid friends who post that shit, or you like pages which post that.
I gave mine up about six months ago after a period of complete inactivity since about 2009. I used to use it to keep in contact with all the people I've met while travelling, but I have all their e-mail addresses anyway. I find that I'm a lot more productive now.
I pretty much watch videos on facepunch, and re-link them on facebook to show to family and friends with the occasional looking through my newsfeed...to only seeing dumb relatives/friends and their shenanigans. Though i come across some funny images every now and than.
Maybe this is a sign Facebook is going to die off and get replaced by something that doesn't foster the same amount of stupidity and privacy violation?
I hate it. I got one when I was still in school because everyone else seemed to have one and everyone was talking about how good it was for keeping contact with friends and meeting new people. I got a whole bunch of friend invites from classmates and distant friends, and thought it seemed good. I started trying to talk to people, but most of the time I was ignored. I tried posting interesting updates, but few ever commented. I tried my best to comment well on other peoples posts, but rarely was I still ever payed attention to. Facebook became nothing but a whole bunch of people that did nothing but tell uninteresting shit about their lives while not wanting to talk to me. Everywhere I just saw shit about old classmates and distant friends bragging about their relationships or their expensive trips to new york or last weekend when they got drunk. Anytime I asked anyone if they wanted to hang out, if I could tag along, what they were up to... fucking nothing, nobody cares. So I removed all my old classmates and distant friends and left only the few people that would occasionally act social; mostly childhood friends. I rarely ever visit facebook anymore, if I do, it's usually because a major holiday is coming up and just MAYBE someone once in a blue moon will offer me to tag along for drinks if I ask them.
Everything about Facebook I can't stand. I use Skype, but that's for chatting, not uploading a picture of you looking like a dumbass doing nothing special at Chili's. I hope none of you are getting cut on my post's sharp edge. I'll say why (if asked why) I don't want one and some people give off a vibe that they're thinking it's because of a mental defect or something. "I can't imagine not having one." :V Lots of people have made Facebook into something a lot more important than it's supposed to be. Even if people around here didn't act super annoying on it I still wouldn't see too much of a point in having one simply because there's not a boatload of pictures I'd upload. My life isn't that interesting.
How do you even switch from FB to Twitter when they are two totally different services with totally different purposes?
I ask the same thing and people act as if it's the dumbest question on earth.
its good to follow what your childhood friends have become and how much more successful they are than you
Isn't that excellent motivation to become something more?
I use Facebook to follow up on "that special someones" life. It's a one way deal though, so I'll probably be quitting facebook again soon.

I really am only on the site for the messenger, I don't own a mobile and most of my friends don't have skype.
I moved away from my home town a year ago, and now the select few people I stayed in contact with have moved away to other places so it's useful for chatting and organising to see each other again which we try to do often enough. It's good because "most people have it", which is terrible reasoning. I've moved over to Google Plus recently, but it suffers from the fact that no one is budging due to Facebook. After getting sick of seeing sponsored posts, adverts everywhere tailored to my interests due to phrase logging, I've pretty much had it and moved on. Idiotic people I sometimes add aside, I've hated its transition from being an easy way to chat and share interests to something that companies advertise through. Keep that away from me, please. At least I can choose to ignore it in Google Plus
hi i'm daniel. my soul is darker than sephiroth's. my thoughts are comparable to that of a black hole's.
Dude, I got a friend who's just fucking like that, and his name is Daniel. Freaky.
When I start seeing shit like on facebook, it really does make me want to pack it all in:
I just browse it and like some of the stuff ESPN and other pages post, sometimes my friends' statuses, too. It's nothing spectacular, just something to look at.
Well, sounds to me that you aren't doing anything different than what your facebook friends are doing.
When your relatives post duck faces with alcohol in their hands it's quite different from what im doing, I pretty much use facebook as a free storage/reminder for certain games or videos.

Facebook is p cool. You can really minimize all the crap if you don't go around liking random pages and shit. Unless you've got idiot friends that like and share all that dumb shit.
Facebook was better when all the pages you liked years ago didnt spam annoying memes and "like this" posts
