you're an idiot
Lets get back to the cancer thing Doriol.
This just in on Great Facepunch Debates:
Malumbre v. Dorial
Quite a match-up.
My grandparents (and dad way back when he was a kid, not anymore, though) live in Lockerbie. They were there when it blew up. Most of the rubble fell in surrounding area (like the field like 20 metres behind their house).
I reckon they'll probably be quite pissed as I think they knew a few people on the ground who were killed by falling rubble (then again, Lockerbie is TINY, I mean it's barely bordering on a town as it is, everyone probably knows everyone there). It pisses me off, but no more so than if anyone else as horrible as this was released from prison.
A little kindness now and then doesn't hurt.
Should have considered kindness before you kill two hundred people.
[editline]02:47AM[/editline]
Why should we stoop to his level and leave him to die in prison?
Hell all the same what difference would it make if he's in or out hes going to die anyway?
uhh yes.
They didn't execute him. When you commit a crime you serve a prison sentence.
Kinda' destroys the entire idea of prison when you get released because you got all weepy
[editline]02:50AM[/editline]
The whole fucking point of prison is to say "You are an asshole and you lost your freedom when you fucking killed 200 people."
That's why it's fucking intimidating. You don't get to make any more decisions for yourself until you're dead, save for the decision of who you prefer to be violating your anus. The entire effect is destroyed when you let people like that out on the pretense that they're dying. That's not what prison is for. If you get a life sentence you serve your life, not most of your life until you're close to dying and then go on your merry little way.
[editline]02:53AM[/editline]
And don't pull the "won't bring them back" shit. Because we should only pursue justice that defies the laws of physics.
"That man just beat me silly!"
"Well catching him won't make the bruises heal now will they!"
The whole compassionate release thing is bullshit, you killed 270 people. FUCK YOU DICKHEAD!
[editline]11:54AM[/editline]
Haha that sounded like something Penn would say.

Oblivion is allowed to be discussed.
"Many people ... I know are upset that my appeal has come to the end, but nothing more can be done about the circumstances of the Lockerbie bombing," al Megrahi said in the statement.
This pissed me off to no end. He deserves cancer.
They hsould stay in prison for life.
He should have been hanged or imprisoned for life.
Killing over 200 people isn't something that you can be nice to someone about.

The British people are Humane Liberals, so we don't kill people.

You can't hang someone where capital punishment is abolished.

How the fucks that stooping to his level? If we killed 270 of his people then yes, we would be stooping to his level.

Since why the fuck is life in prison "stooping"?
[editline]11:40AM[/editline]
He didn't imprison 270 people he murdered 270 people.

Bad blood leads to bad blood, we keep him in prison and leave him to die what dose that say about us? Leaving him in there would have just given the terrorist world another martyr, another person who did (in his eyes) Allah's bidding and was killed by the western infadels; (that is at least how they'd interprete it)
Hell for all we know he could be innocent and then what? What effect do you think that will have on his supporters? Do you think they will just sit back with their thumbs up their arse and do nothing? No they will just grow to resent the west and in the worse case scenario turn to the terrorists for Justis.
Leaving him in prison would have done more harm than good, of course this isn't easiest or the most preferable course of action and its sure as hell doesn't wash the slate clean but this just one of thous things where we have to look at the bigger picture and god help us if this all goes the other way.

Don't matter much to me, just my opinion on the matter. Sure people wont agree with be but what the hell its not going to effect matters much now.
Bad blood leads to bad blood, we keep him in prison and leave him to die what dose that say about us?
Uhh, it says you imprison people who murder 270 other people.
[editline]02:56PM[/editline]
Like every civilized country does.
[editline]03:19PM[/editline]
That's called justice.

And so we did and now he is being let out to die as opposed to dieing in prison.
Whichever way you slice it the end result is still the same: He's going to die and someone is going to be pissed off.

Uhh, Life in prison MEANS dying in prison.
That's the sentence.
[editline]03:29PM[/editline]
It isn't Life in prison until you get super duper sick and weepy.
[editline]03:29PM[/editline]
And FUCK the people who get pissed, honestly.
[editline]03:30PM[/editline]
This isn't the fucking Care Bear courtroom
[editline]03:35PM[/editline]
Well sir it seems you have been charged with 270 counts of murder, how do you plea?
OVERRULED ITS TIME FOR HUGS!
But judge cuddlywinks, this man had committed a crime beyond proportion and should effectively lose all hope of returning to a normal life!
THAT WONT BRING THEM BACK NOW WILL IT
Mr. Cuddlywinks, I implore you, please consider even the most basic concepts of justice and deterrence! What sort of justice do we have left when mere disease pardons such unimaginable crimes?!
WE DON'T WANT TO MAKE ANYONE ANGRY
http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/08/20/scotland.lockerbie.bomber/index.html
All I can say is, you Scot justices are fucking idiots
Oh dear.
The "Lockerbie Bomber" isn't even the bomber himself, he probably took part in it but there's no way he could have done that himself. Gadaffi just gave him to us as a scape goat so we could shut up and blame this old bugger.
Even if he did take part in the deaths of many people, that's no excuse to keep a terminally ill man in prison who is obviously a fanatic and there's practically nothing we can do to change that.
Anyway, we aren't even letting him go on grounds of compassion, we're letting him go because Libya's opening their oil supplies to us. As I said in a similar thread, look at poor old Ronnie Biggs. We certainly didn't give him the same treatment.

Over here, life imprisonment doesn't mean life imprisonment. It means something like about a decade or two before you're released for whatever random assed contrived reason.
I bet it was a trade for someone Libia has stolen.
Hell for all we know he could be innocent and then what?

Leaving him in there would have just given the terrorist world another marty
Isn't a martyr someone who dies for something they believe in? Not someone who dies from natural causes?
Another target for the West's fucking barbaric witchhunt.
Isn't a martyr someone who dies for something they believe in? Not someone who dies from natural causes?
Aye but as I said that's how they'd interpret it, rasonality and terrorism seldom mix.
Aye but as I said that's how they'd interpret it, rasonality and terrorism seldom mix.
Actually I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, but instead of dying in prison and becoming a 'martyr' he's comes home and is a national hero instead. But at least he gets to see his family.
Should've kept him in jail.
Another target for the West's fucking barbaric witchhunt.
:sigh:
Then shoot him, $0.60 and problem solved
I just wonder how much you know about our jails. Some prisoners get treated better inside than most lower class. Not to mention than they get drugs and phones on demand inside because of smugglers. And i pay a lot more than 30 pence for taxes. Of course, as an American citizen you don't have to pay for the stuff we do, but then our public systems in place are, in some areas, more developed...
Plus, you cannot shoot someone for committing a crime. It's inhumane for any reason. Scotland released him to show that they are not who he is. They are kind people, he has shown no guilt for his crime.
