• Beyonce Sinks to a New Low: Samples Audio from the Challenger Disaster for a Love Song

evpatoria report used a very large chunk of the preflight checklist radio conversation between houston and the columbia before the disaster happened
I had to listen to the song twice and turn it up to even notice it apart from the beep. Can't see what the big issue is, we have to get over things like this eventually. I went to edit this post and noticed someone gave me a title. Anyway on topic again can they in future complain about royalties or something silly like that?
I suppose it kinda fits with the song, but I don't see the reason to try and say it's a tribute to the crewmembers - she's equating the crash with a crash in a relationship, and that's really a bit degrading.
Not sure what you mean by 'New Low'. Never thought of Beyonce being particularly underhanded or insensitive.

I don't think she should be bashed to hell and back for it, but it was definitely something she shouldn't have done.
It's funny shows like Family Guy of South Park making fun of 9/11 get's little uproar, yet Beyonce samples a song from a tragedy that happened over 20 years ago and people start calling her names and saying she's evil and is the devil.
I had no idea they had a version of this song with that in it, that's interesting. I was also bummed when the NA release of Reise, Reise had the part at the beginning of Mein Teil removed, the quote from the butcher.
i think that they removed the metzgemeister advertisement from the album version period, ive only heard it live and on the single but yeah i dont think anyone every gave rammstein hell for their self titled song which was based on the ramstein air base disaster [editline]31st December 2013[/editline] also the JAL 123 recording at the beginning of reise, reise was actually hidden before the first song [editline]31st December 2013[/editline] but only in the initial release, it was removed for later pressings and japanese release
I can't really get angry at this since one of my favourite songs uses samples from the Heaven Gate mass suicide but I can understand why some people would be upset. There isn't really much point in blaming Beyonce for this though, she didn't even write the song.
I don't get why this is a big deal? People use 9/11 footage in videos meant to be laughed at and nobody turns those into a problem. You can go ahead and rate me dumb but I honestly don't see the problem.
My heart goes out to the families of those lost in the Challenger disaster
oh my god fuck off you sound like a news reporter/politician, you do not give a shit
who cares? james ferraro sampled 9/11 news footage in his new album and there wasn't an article like this about it
I never did like Beyonce, but now I have a legitimate reason to dislike her.
essentially sums up the reason why this thread exists. now you've all found a pseudo-legitimate reason to dislike beyonce.
Looks like found I found the white banner for all the white knights and their white horses to rally upon
I seriously didn't know Beyonce was still releasing stuff. I couldn't give less of a shit about an artist sampling sound from some disaster. If no one had told me the samples were from the challenger crash I would have never guessed.
