Thank goodness they didn't have any pets.
That would depend on the value of the pet. I doubt that a house cat would be their most valuable piece of property.
That would depend on the value of the pet. I doubt that a house cat would be their most valuable piece of property.
If my house got destroyed, I would be hoping for my cat to be okay first off. Assuming no family members were in there with them.
That would depend on the value of the pet. I doubt that a house cat would be their most valuable piece of property.
I hope you don't have any pets...
That would depend on the value of the pet. I doubt that a house cat would be their most valuable piece of property.
'The value of the pet' Yes, a TV may be $500 but that doesn't beat the SENTIMENTAL value of a pet, jesus are you really that heartless?
'The value of the pet' Yes, a TV may be $500 but that doesn't beat the SENTIMENTAL value of a pet, jesus are you really that heartless?
No, but they still have a price tag slapped on them. And are generally owned as property. Protected by laws from mistreatment even...to quite varying degrees.
No, but they still have a price tag slapped on them. And are generally owned as property. Protected by laws from mistreatment even...to quite varying degrees.
When NuggetWarmer said "Thank goodness they didn't have any pets." he didn't mean "Oh man, they'd be so pissed if they lost such a valuable item!" Edit: i say "valuable" in a monetary sense
No, but they still have a price tag slapped on them. And are generally owned as property. Protected by laws from mistreatment even...to quite varying degrees.
Why should the monetary value affect the moral value?
No, but they still have a price tag slapped on them. And are generally owned as property. Protected by laws from mistreatment even...to quite varying degrees.
My house was destroyed? Damn, lost all my small furry slaves. Ah well i'll get more
Alright alright! It's not as much property as it is a life-long companion, I know that.. It's a different kind of loss.. of item. [editline]24th March 2016[/editline] :ninja:
Jesus, when i see this i imagine my dog being in there. How does this even happen?
Stop jumping on Bat-Shit for no reason. Cats, dogs, animals, have a set monetary value and are only worth so much. Emotionally, they mean infinitely more, but to insurance companies, lawyers, the financial element of all this, that's not the case and they have to be quantifiable in value.
You don't think the insurance company will be demanding the demolition company pay for it? This isn't a freak of nature event, it may not even be covered by the family's insurance. This is why the demolition company has insurance.
It would be really weird if the family had insurance against accidental demolition.
That's so sad. Imagine having all your personal items in there. I don't just mean stuff like your clothes but things with sentimental value. I have a bunch of picture of my girlfriend and I on the wall and I also have a memory box with some stuff like that too. It would be so sad if everything that you attached value to got demolish cause some asshole didn't read the address right
Yes thank you HumanAbyss, and in the "grand" scheme of things, i.e. an entire house being demolished mistakenly, it would be hard to even think about which things you miss the most. All of them in their own ways. However, a part of my intention was also indeed to challenge people, or rather the poster who said "Thank goodness there weren't any pets inside!", which I always find kinda dumb to even say, like saying "At least they got their health!", so I wanted to give him some other "insightful" answer.
Good thing houses are cheap out there.
