Because it turned the good old Evil Nazi Science into "haha it was jew science all along!" which imo seems more like a forced retcon
Bahahaha, suuuure yeah that's the problem, uhuh. Not because it's an interesting idea in terms of how they stole something from the people they were trying to exterminate. No, clearly it's spoopy SJWs.
Well, with the next Wolfenstein they could easily avoid doing 360/PS3 versions. Just PC, PS4 and Xbone.
I just disagree. i thought it was a pretty fitting and ordinary wolfenstein like thing to do.
Yeah, I understand that. Looking back, I'm trying to figure out how to articulate what bothered me so much about it exactly. The first time I played it and that twist was revealed, it didn't really bother me; I mean it was kind of a shock, but then I was just like whatever. I think the thing I liked the most before the twist was the thought that everything (the technology, the architecture and engineering, etc.) was just the result of good-old fashioned Nazi ingenuity, and that made it even more sinister. Before, I was like... "So not only are you genocidal megalomaniacs trying to own and reshape the entire world into something horrifying for everyone but yourselves and re-engineer your own people into a master race that will dominate all life (and exterminate a lot of it too), but you're also fucking brilliant: you know what you're doing, and you're only going to get stronger with time and develop new bullshit (because you're so brilliant) on your own to use to subjugate and enslave everyone and to colonize the planet... that is unparalleled evil." That kind of self-sufficiency and ingenuity appeals to me though, because it really corroborates the notion that the Nazis actually were all-powerful and were in charge now. I think that image could have been overturned without the Jewish twist; under my original assumption about what was going on before the twist, [sp]Deathshead dying would have resolved everything, since he was the scientist who was orchestrating and actually developing all these projects for the Reich's new order[/sp].
This is honestly what bothered me more than anything. It was a massive deviation from the Wolfenstein franchise's original premise that actually yes this was all original material that the Nazis themselves were creating and engineering, discovering and excavating, etc. And it tied in so perfectly with Nazism's real-life fascination with science (actual science and pseudoscience), the occult, supernatural elements and spirituality, racial purity, and so on. With the whole "Jew science" twist, I didn't have any reaction to it other than "what?". And not in a good "wow that was unexpected/is actually kind of funny" way, more like in a "well that sounds fucking stupid and makes no sense" way. It was unnecessary and corrupted the established lore that's been in place since the beginning of the franchise: that the Nazis were behind everything, were brilliant and on the edge of success, and were going to transform the world into something horrifying on their own one way or another-- no matter the cost in human life or material, safety and ethics be damned.
Except core Nazi/Kreisau beliefs were founded by Indians, not only Indian but the ancestor of the Roma, so the "twist" in TNO is actually founded on an actual precedent.

the space jews were the bad guys anyway, they were sitting on caches of supertech and did nothing during ww2 and promptly got themselves wiped out and doomed the world

Man, the only hope I've got is that they figure out how to work that alt-history 60's Pop into the in-game soundtrack, instead of just making them collectible records.
I loved TNO, though I haven't played TOB yet. I'd love to see a sequel. And I must have missed alot because I just thought the [sp]power sources for the super soldiers and the concrete were directly stolen from the Jews[/sp]. Was it explained that most of the tech was and I just missed it?
I just hope the sequel will be as fun as the first. The New Order was the best shooter that I've played in years.

The scary part of Nazi Super Science as a trope is that it's specifically Nazi super science, that world-conquering leaps in science and technology are the result of throwing off all the ethical shackles that constrain Western scientific thought. It's the ultimate conclusion to the fear of science getting out of control, which has been a staple of the 20th century ever since Fritz Lang's Metropolis hit theaters. Deathshead is the embodiment of this trope, an accomplished scientist unburdened by any sense of ethics, and I think he'd be a lot less scary if he was presented as just some fanatic who found a ray gun. Or put another way, the revelation that the Nazis are just copying old Jewish technology changes the Nazis from a fearsomely technological regime into basically a bunch of looters who happened to be the nation lucky enough to stumble across the relics. They're still the bad guys, they're just not as scary, because it's not them you're scared of, it's the crap they stole and put to use.
