For now I think I'll settle for an SSD drive with 5ns read speeds.
Current SSDs are technically more expensive than whatever drive they come out with that uses this technology, seeing as they not only cost alot of money, but they don't last long. You currently spend like $200-1500 on a HDD that won't last nearly as long as one of these, which as far as I've read will last nearly indefinitely barring poor manufacturing.
Prices and worth will improve with time. So many examples that could be given for this.

Everytime I hear of a breakthrough that boggles the mind I want to believe the earth is inside a computer whose rules are being dynamically re-written.
Given the complexity of this universe I'd say there are no rules.

What about, like, gravity?
What about, like, gravity?
Well it's not a definitive rule. it can be changed depending upon it's surroundings. I'm not saying rules don't exist period. I'm just saying that rules are dynamic because there is a limitless possiblity of how things can work and vary in our existence.
But if my RAM is persistent, how will I fix Windows when it breaks? :ohdear:

You will still probably be able to specify something like a fresh boot wherein the data already on it is not used.
Still it a fairly interesting concept. Could also lead to portable devices that have a full fledged OS*but don't require two specific chips for storage and ram and a couple of other quite nifty uses.
So we probably wont need to wait for startup anymore because everything will be in standby as opposed to off, correct?

Pretty much.
