MEANWHILE, 60 MILLION YEARS AGO, THERE WAS A SNAKE LARGER THAN A BUS
The entire animal kingdom of earth basically turned into a giant bag of pussies compared to what was living there 60 million years ago.
Thank mother nature for that.
Well, we turn into a bag of pussies right now, just look at today's generation and compare those to previous generations :v:

Weapons that can destroy countries v bronze swords and arrows?
Animals shrunk in size as the oxygen levels in the atmosphere lowered over the millions of years..
Actually, the levels of atmospheric oxygen have increased slightly over 65 million years, though not enough to make a difference. Those who mainly benefit from higher oxygen levels are insects, who do not breathe or have a blood circulation like us, but rather openings on the body which absorb oxygen and transport it directly to the cells in need of it. This allows insects to be much stronger than us as they have an instant and steady supply of oxygen to their bodies all the time (look at ants, who can carry 20x their weight), but it severely limits the size of the body based on the oxygen levels. When oxygen levels were higher (about 35%) during the Carboniferous-period, insects as big as animals today were roaming the earth.
The reason dinosaurs were so large back then was because of the availability of resources and energy. After the asteroid hit only the smallest animals survived and the energy-rich ecosystem on the surface was destroyed.
I find it funny how a thread about a giant snake derails into a discussion about how the moon was made :v:

More like thank the giant meteor/super volcano that killed them all off.

Not fair. Can someone please explain the reason behind these restrictions?

Yeah look at those bones, so unhealthy
Those damn snakes are really bad at having proper hygiene compared to modern snakes, just look at that shiny anaconda vertebra, all polished and good looking.

Exactly. It's expected that in the course of millions of years, life on Earth will evolve back to those monsterous proportions that creatures had back then.
Of course we humans are going to fuck that all up but it's awesome to know that an alien earth-like planet will probably hold gigantic creatures if it didn't have similar catastrophes.
I wonder if it would be legal to keep one of these?

Probably not.
I wonder if it would be legal to keep one of these?
Where would you keep it?
Reminds me of that big snake from Resident Evil.

I guess the snakes longer than buses here in Australia are a relative to it.
I want one
Isnt this an april fools?
Nope.
It was discovered quite a while ago that titanoboa existed.
I guess just like tech, animals also evolved smaller in size.
