It won't affect us in a negative way as customers. All it means is that some websites will load faster because they've paid for the priviledge.
The internet won't cease to exist because a company wants to make money off increasing the speed on their sites.
I believe he was hinting to net neutrality, which while being important in the development of the internet is not nesseccary for its existance.
Prepare your tinfoil hats, it's about to happen!
Not one scrap of internet!
http://www.google.com/help/netneutrality_letter.html Oh Irony.
So how about selling more bandwidth eh?
Was hoping this was a badge boys thread.
I know I keep seeing articles that I think will be Badage boys
Sounds like a Fox News report.
http://www.google.com/help/netneutrality_letter.html Oh Irony.
i'm guessing you didn't read the 5 or 6 posts explaining that Google flat out denies being a part of these talks.

So it's supposed to be happening? Absolutely no difference in the Internet that I notice, so I don't care.
The internet is working, oh well it's not like I thought it would have vanished.
The internet as we know it will end on monday
http://gizmodo.com/5608422/google-and-verizon-issue-joint-proposal-for-net-neutrality-policy :downs:
that article doesn't disagree at all with what i posted, in fact it agrees with it
If they restrict connections if you don't pay... fuck that shit. If they're merely offering upgraded connections for extra cash... im_okay_with_this.jpg
....I still have internet :v:
I was expecting either the Internet completely falling, or badge boys.
If what neutrality advocates are warning about ever actually happens, there will be a shitstorm. I'm not worried.
The internet's still worki
What they waiting for? Christmas?
Youtube is very slow now.......
So for anyone who doesn't think this is a bad thing, prepare to pay more for gaming internet. http://kotaku.com/5608693/does-net-neutrality-mean-a-golden-highway-paved-by-gamers [editline]06:39PM[/editline] It's highly likely we'll pay more for some services that we take for granted now.
good-bye my friend, will i ever love again?
Monday is over in many parts of the world...
Monday is over in many parts of the world...
And nothing has changed, as expected.
This article has tried to use Google's name in a bad way, therefore I believe none of it. Google are NOT assholes and would never agree to such a deal.
I was playing with rocks all day before I figured out the internet was still up.
Stop doing bad stuff Google. :frown: I used to love you.
Fuck, I have Verizon. However it's already super fast so I don't care. But strangely enough I have noticed that youtube is balls slow...
Explain.
