i just think the thing is ridiculous. gay marriage? cool. bert and ernie getting married? the notion of that is ridiculous.
the notion of a vampire puppet counting vampire bats isn't ridiculous?
That either means you just don't give a shit about human rights, which to be honest wouldn't surprise me, or you oppose it.
... what?
i just think the thing is ridiculous. gay marriage? cool. bert and ernie getting married? the notion of that is ridiculous.
If Sesame Street had an episode about heterosexual marriage, would you really be saying the same thing? [editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
... what?
If he "can't be arsed" to support LGBT rights, he either doesn't care about it or opposes it. How is that unclear?
the notion of a vampire puppet counting vampire bats isn't ridiculous?
it's obvious that that is a theme with the character, it's supposed to go with it. this marriage would be random as shit
... what?
homosexuals are humans
If Sesame Street had an episode about heterosexual marriage, would you really be saying the same thing? I'm not a homophobe I simply can't be arsed to support LBTG rights, or work against them either.
Please read.
LGBT rights and human rights are two different categories. not supporting and not opposing LGBT rights deals with not caring about gay marriage or gay rights human rights would probably mean something like child labor or slavery
If Sesame Street had an episode about heterosexual marriage, would you really be saying the same thing?
probably, if it was fucking random.
Please read.
nah, you're either for or against LGBT rights. saying you're not for or against them is a nice way of saying you're against them
you said human rights
LGBT rights is part of human rights. Sobotnik, has, in the past, expressed a great fondness for totalitarianism, and would most likely support delaying human rights or avoiding them all together for the good of the state.
nah, you're either for or against LGBT rights. saying you're not for or against them is a nice way of saying you're against them
this basically explains his position http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apatheism
Please read.
Not being explicitly against something doesn't make you look any better than being opposed to it.
this basically explains his position http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apatheism
I know that ITN threads tend to derail into religious discussions quickly, but this has to be a new record
this basically explains his position http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apatheism
That means he doesn't care, and I'd say that's just as bad if not worse in certain aspects than being against it.
I know that ITN threads tend to derail into religious discussions quickly, but this has to be a new record
i'm not talking about religion, but it's the same idea
I know that ITN threads tend to derail into religious discussions quickly, but this has to be a new record
He's saying it's the same kind of mindset, just replace religion with LGBT rights. I think that's a stupid comparison, but that's what he's saying.
i'm not talking about religion, but it's the same idea
then just say he's apathetic
this whole argument is just mincing words and taking other people's thoughts out of context in an attempt to uncover ulterior motives or secret beliefs which aren't actually there. nobody here is a homophobe, and i'm sure it's not hard to see why this whole petition was asking for a ridiculous thing. christ it's like a fucking ben stiller movie
I don't care about religion or LGBT rights, I just wish to get on with life.
I don't care about religion or LGBT rights, I just wish to get on with life.
And that's bad. [editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
this whole argument is just mincing words and taking other people's thoughts out of context in an attempt to uncover ulterior motives or secret beliefs which aren't actually there. nobody here is a homophobe, and i'm sure it's not hard to see why this whole petition was asking for a ridiculous thing. christ it's like a fucking ben stiller movie
I'm not mincing words, he literally said "I don't care about LGBT rights", and I'm saying that's bad.
And that's bad.
Oh so not caring about religion is fine then?
Oh so not caring about religion is fine then?
violations of LGBT rights directly affect people violations of religious rights make people mad
I'm not mincing words, he literally said "I don't care about LGBT rights", and I'm saying that's bad.
And I'm talking about the entire conversation that has been panning most of this thread.
Oh so not caring about religion is fine then?
If you had said "I don't care about religious rights", then I'd say that's bad. Simply not caring about religion or religious institutions isn't going to really matter.
violations of LGBT rights directly affect people violations of religious rights make people mad
so violations of religious rights don't directly affect people?
And I'm talking about the entire conversation that has been panning most of this thread.
Your argument in regard to the thread topic has been nothing but "this sounds ridiculous".
But there is like nothing even hinting that they are gay. Yeah, as said, they have no real sexual preferences, but even more so they definitely are not gay. So this doesn't make sense to me.
so violations of religious rights don't directly affect people?
no, they don't matter if your religion mandates that you wear a colander full of spaghetti where ever you go, being told to take it off doesn't mean anything and your problems mean absolutely nothing
violations of LGBT rights directly affect people violations of religious rights make people mad
That's the same fucking thing.
