I've never seen any State that forbids gays to get married, even though the law might say so. Basically, I've never actually seen anyone inconvenienced by a lack of said rights.
Are you kidding me? States that have laws against gay marriage don't just act all lax if they try to get married, and say "yeah go on, you get married".
No, I just couldn't think of any rights that straight people have that gay people lack. I've never seen any State that forbids gays to get married, even though the law might say so. Basically, I've never actually seen anyone inconvenienced by a lack of said rights.
Have you ever met a gay person?
notice how even if we were aware that it's a joke it's still completely unfunny and makes you look bad
I still don't care about LGBT or religion or any of that stuff.
Have you ever met a gay person?
I have but then it turned out they were all bisexual instead.
You tell me that transgendered and gay people are treated equally in today's society, and I will laugh in your face.
How are they discriminated against more so than gay people? [editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
Are you kidding me? States that have laws against gay marriage don't just act all lax if they try to get married, and say "yeah go on, you get married".
Except that they do? People don't generally like enforcing laws that they think are dumb. If they did, everyone around here would have speeding tickets.
Have you ever met a gay person?
There were quite a few in my graduating class, I believe it was pretty close to half.
How are they discriminated against more so than gay people?
There is a really big stigma against Trans individuals in the US. I don't know if you remember the thread where the question was posed "what would you do if your child came out as trans", but some of the responses were truly awful. If I had a dollar for every time a MtF trans was referred to as a "drag queen", I'd be very rich.
How are they discriminated against more so than gay people?
https://www.hrc.org/issues/1508.htm Transgendered people are statistically more unlikely to be hired for a job and have no laws protecting them from that, and if they do get the job they are likely to suffer abuse in the workplace for it. They are also sometimes refused healthcare based upon being transgendered (not really due to laws, but due to doctors simply refusing to treat them) And don't even get me started on violence/abuse towards transgendered people. And of course, the first and third ones can also (less frequently nowadays) apply to gay people.
I'm okay with straights and whatnot, but it's moments like these where they try to force their straight pride down your throats like this that really grind my gears. Just because more states are open to straight marriage doesn't mean EVERYTHING has to be straight now. FFS it's a childrens show I'm okay with blacks and whatnot, but it's moments like these where they try to force their black pride down your throats like that that really grind my gears. Just because more states are open to black marriage doesn't mean EVERYTHING has to be black now. FFS it's a childrens show [editline]1[/editline] if you don't get what I'm implying: you're basically just as bad or worse than people who complained about (for example) blacks, hispanics and asians being in childrens shows
This is a children's show we're talking about.
This is a children's show we're talking about.
...and your point is?
Because it's fucked up If you grew up watching a bunch of shows telling you its fuckin ballin' to be gay as shit then you'd be fucking gay. Teaching kids to be gay is detrimental to the human race as a whole.
No one would be gay from a show that encourages gay relationships. That would be like saying that kids are homicidal from watching Tom and Jerry.
This is a children's show we're talking about.
What makes homosexuality less suitable for children than heterosexuality?
Why would they get married? They're just friends. Someone should petition for Bert to marry a pigeon.
...and your point is?
Has anyone even asked the puppets?:v:
what made these people think this was a good idea
just like you don't care about religious freedom
I know this is kind of a latepost, but I'd like to respond to this. If people want to wear religious things, like a yamaka or a burqa of their own free will, it is within their right to do so as long as it does not conflict with laws already in place. People should be free to practice their religion, but it should not impede scientific progress or permeate the political process in any way, shape, or form.
People can worship whoever they like, but if it makes them get in the way of something they damn well better get the hell out of the way.
That's kind of what I just said.
That's kind of what I just said.
We probably have differing views on what should happen if say they refused to.
sobotnik doesn't care about anything and will make sure you know it even if it takes several pages
sobotnik doesn't care about anything and will make sure you know it even if it takes several pages
Such is the paradox.
We probably have differing views on what should happen if say they refused to.
Well what would recommend? That they be shot or something?
Well what would recommend? That they be shot or something?
Keep the foot down on the accelerator.
Keep the foot down on the accelerator.
I'm afraid I don't follow.
I'm afraid I don't follow.
Say for example somebody is protesting a nuclear plant being built, and they lay down in front of the truck delivering vital supplies for its construction. I won't reach for the handbrake. Or say a bunch of PETA protesters are preventing a truck delivering to a laboratory to make vaccines. This truck will not stop till it reaches its intended destination.
he's saying that if there are religious people walking down the street he'd run him over in his car. you should see him without his medication, OH BOY...
