Mother bear kills her cub and herself afterwards in Chinese medicine farm

If anything the weight of the bear (they can weigh upwards of 700 lbs. depending on the species) probably snapped its neck on impact rather than imploding it's skull, but momentum might have partially succeeded in doing that, too.
I wonder what was going through the mind of the mother bear when she was killing her cub...
"i sure hope theres pic-n-ic baskets in heaven"
The ground?
Whether an afterlife exists or not being dead is better than being in the hands of a Chinese medicine farm.
My, my, some good old fashioned teenage angst, goody. Thanks for stating your religious beliefs but the only people who give less of a fuck about your religion and opinions than you is everybody else, keep this in mind.

Also, the ground is unimaginably better than a life of torture, as well.
I never stated my religious beliefs or shared any opinions. It's obvious the bear went into the ground. It seems I've touched a nerve, though..

This is what I was going at, but it seems I've offended Little Ms. DroppedOnHerHead
Also please fuck off with the religion argument bullshit. It's bad enough we have a classic facepunch animal rights related shitstorm brewing. We don't need more than one shitstorm in the same thread.
Especially when religion isn't even relevant to this thread.
I never even mentioned Religion but whatever
Oh China, you and your fake medicine and animal cruelty. Still, this isn't half as bad as that dish made out of an ass, cooked alive.
I never even mentioned Religion but whatever
Don't be a jackass about this. You know perfectly well that you did.

Oh hi, it seems you think you're being smart.
[sp]You aren't[/sp]

Gee, I sure wish there was some way that we could check what has been said in this thread. I guess we'll never know.
Damn, that tells us a whole lot about the intellectual perceptiveness of a bear. Never figured that sort of grim logic ever made it into creatures such as these.
Very sad regardless. also, Christ china what is with these remedies?
Ugh this story makes me want to puke, I feel so bad.

I doubt there are many religions that believe in bear heaven to be honest
china
forever
backwards

I don't even know what you said but I'm sure you are.
This is happening to so many bears, and it's not even for anything we need.
Before this thread I was thinking about space and colonizing and conquering the universe. Now I don't think we deserve to. I think we'd actually become the monsters we portray in our alien invasion films.
There should be a Godwin's Law for religion arguments...
Imagining the situation is just disturbing.
All of them are apparently in such pain that they all go directly against their natural instincts of "survive and reproduce." Only being protected by IRON, completely incapable of harming themselves do they not kill themselves. Only finally motivated by how extremely protective bears are of their cubs and how it realizes it's cub would go through the same thing does it escape. And the torture it experienced is also bad enough to make it go against the same force that allowed it to escape and kill her cub. Then immediately afterwards, with a gaping wound in her stomach, ignoring the people she would have otherwise been hostile to, and also quickly making the realization it would be unable to strangle itself, charged into a wall with enough force to kill itself.
And this was only observed by a temporary worker on the farm. Odds are similar events happened more often. Really, I'm uncomfortable typing this. The world really, really has to do something about inhumane farm treatment.

Of course, because some weird Chinese people do this, ALL of humanity is evil.
Well, what can we do, spread the word I guess.
I'm Chinese..
I'm Chinese..
and? There's quite a high probability of people being chinese.
I'm Chinese..
1 in 5 people are Chinese.
I'm Chinese..
Stop torturing bears motherfucker.
jk

Couldn't have said it better, what have we become, no morals...
I'm expecting PETA to waltz in anytime now.
how many PETA members does it take to change a lightbulb? No amount, PETA can't change anything.
It then dropped the cub and ran head-first into a wall, killing itself.
Holy shit.
Couldn't have said it better, what have we become, no morals...
1) There are good and bad people
2) There have always been good and people, recently it seems there are more good. We haven't "become" anything.

We are selfish. If it benefits us we will look the other way. Most people, including us here, will say "wow that's fucking terrible" feel bad for a bit then go about our day.
What happens if we discover a planet of spacebears with diamonds in their tummys. The diamonds are anything we as a space fairing race would find valuable. If the tummy diamonds were sufficently valualbe I think I know what would happen.
I don't think we are the good guys.
I made myself sad.
When I first read the title I wondered what kind of sick bear would kill its own cub, but reading the story.. wow. I never knew this kind of thing happened.
