This is where all the hate for the east comes from
I'm pretty sure it's because of RED THREAT and YELLOW PERIL combined in the subconsicious.
I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been some jackass that's tried to justify this. I guess animal abuse is one of the few things that all of Facepunch can agree is wrong.
I want to see them try to fuck with a Grizzly bear.
That's both sad and cool, glad the cub is in a better place right now.
No I'm quite sure it's dead.
I want to see them try to fuck with a Grizzly bear.
So that they can be killed? [editline]14th August 2011[/editline]
No I'm quite sure it's dead.
Don't.
This has got to be the worst case of animal cruelty I have ever heard. It's so disgusting. I was almost cheering for the bear to go on a rampage toward the end of the article (not saying that animal lives are more important than human lives, just saying that I was hoping for some kind of poetic justice rather than a brutal suicide). There still could be a happy ending here, though. Perhaps this will draw some attention to the terrible treatment of bears in Northern China.
Wow... thats fucking sad D:
No I'm quite sure it's dead.
What's with you people and sticking your beliefs in places where they don't belong?
are those duckies
Foie gras is made from liver of force fed geese. I'm not sure if I will ever eat it the same way I did before. So much for France being considered one of the most gastronomic country.
I swear I've seen about 5 depressing animal things today without even looking for any.
So that they can be killed? [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] Don't.
Yes.
What a privilege it is to be a human, huh?
Smart mother, thats why bears are my second favorite mammal.
um wat norway wasn't sad? casey anthony wasn't sad? [editline]13th August 2011[/editline] rebecca black?
If you've never heard the phrase "One of the most", it means that it is one of but not the only one of what's being described.
Yes.
Why would you want that?
I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been some jackass that's tried to justify this. I guess animal abuse is one of the few things that all of Facepunch can agree is wrong.
There's no argument for what is basically a combination of human greed and animal cruelty. Things like this and even Foxconn just go to show how absolutely absurd China is in handling her economy.
Why would you want that?
Because one Grizzly bear killing let's say 10 staff members, would not put a dent on the damage these guys did to the bear community. I'm not saying I rather have bears be treated better then Humans, I just rather not see them being treated worst then humans.

Even if animals might not intellectually be as advanced as humans, they should still be treated respectfully as living creatures. The fact that bears can commit suicide or even murder their young in certain situations represents that.
I laughed at that and now I just feel awful. Believing that killing her own cub and then herself is the only option she has, that's just terrible. This story is just utterly depressing.
It was the only option though, and I guess she knew that. I had no idea they were that intelligent, people really underestimate animals.
Traditional Chinese Medicine, like homeopathy? Are you fucking kidding me I thought the Chinese were an educated people(s).
Traditional Chinese Medicine, like homeopathy? Are you fucking kidding me I thought the Chinese were an educated people(s).
Only the rich sadly.
Welcome to Facepunch, where an animal's life is indefinitely more important than any human's.
Do you know anything about a humans mind? Were more used to seeing our own kind die, but we also love animals aswell. Were not used to them being tortured and killed. So ofcourse were gonna be sad that this happened.
How could you do that to a bear? Bears are fucking awesome.
Mother bear should've mauled a few of the workers before offing herself. Cunts deserve it. And as for the human life VS animal life, animals are by default innocent. They do what they do by instinct. Humans are capable of intense greed and selfishness. Of course, if it were an animal's life VS and innocent person's life, in my opinion the person comes first. But in this case, the people responsible for this were fucking wastes of space, so them dying would be justice, not something inhumane.
There are also stories ( and even a video) of Chinese men in places like these, torturing dogs to make the meat tastier or some fucked up shit. China is seriously fucked up on how they treat animals. Am not saying all Chinese people do this though.
Normally mother bears fuck shit up in my front porch (IE Taking all my garbage and running off over the hill to the river to spill it all out there) but now I think I might leave some real food outside. Maybe just raw meat or something. Those bears, extremely intelligent. I can understand, although it's a sick act, doing anything to animals who have no clue what's going on, but animals with better intelligence such as bears is just sicker even more, although the former still being a cruel act.
I'd hug it. Sure, it might claw me or try to raise me as its cub, but i'd hug it.
Asian Black Bear. It'd probably maul the shit out of you.
I emailed PETA, despite the fact that they wont do shit. I am trying to find some orginizations that might be able to get something done with the Chinese Government, but none seem to exist. I am considering emailing my own government, but I doubt they would do anything.
Dear friend, Thank you for contacting us with your concerns about bears used on bile “farms” in China. We agree that this hideously cruel practice must be stopped. The Animals Asia Foundation (AAF) has worked tirelessly to address the plight of the thousands of bears suffering on bile farms throughout Asia. After years of campaigning, AAF was able to get the China Wildlife Conservation Association to sign an agreement that allowed for the rescue of 500 endangered moon bears from the worst farms in Sichuan Province. The ultimate goal of the agreement is to work toward the elimination of all bear farming in China and to promote herbal alternatives to bear bile. Because of this unprecedented partnership, farms are closing and hundreds of bears are being rescued. AAF opened a sanctuary for the bears near the city of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. The center includes a hospital for injured bears and 27 acres of bamboo forest where rescued bears can live out their lives free from fear and pain. To learn more and to find out how you can help, please see http://www.animalsasia.org/index.php?module=2&menupos=2&lg=en . The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is also working hard to stop the deplorable practice of bear bile farming. WSPA has helped bears in Vietnam and South Korea as well as in China. For more information about WSPA’s efforts, visit http://www.wspa-international.org/wspaswork/bears/bearfarming/ . PETA has written to the Chinese president and the Chinese ambassador to the U.S., expressing our concerns about bear bile farming. Please write to them as well, and ask your friends and family to do the same. Even though progress is being made, we must let officials know that we want all bears to be freed from the horrible conditions on bile farms. For tips on writing effective advocacy letters, see our guide at http://www.PETA.org/action/activism-guide/letter-writing.aspx . Thanks for caring and for everything that you do to help animals! Sincerely, The PETA Staff http://www.PETA.org
Got a response from PETA, seems like they do actually care. My problem with peta is they bring attention to small problems and fail to do so for large problems like this. They care more about makeup being tested on rabbits then they do about bears being tortured and harvested n shit.
