Uh, that's completely within his bounds. I thought he banned Fox from interviewing and access where other stations were allowed. If he just banned it on military owned TV-Sets, he's within his rights as a commanding officer, I believe.
Not a military lawyer, though.
True.
How do you figure? Because we like to follow the Constitution as it is written?
lol. Everyone with half a brain follows the constitution like it was written. To claim that conservatives are the only ones doing is is pretty stupid. The constitution has a lot of wiggle room on many things for a reason: so that the country can change with the times.
And it's completely within the general's rights to censor media for his men. The military has different laws and rules than civilians, and this has always been the case. Want to complain, whine to the writers of the UNSC.

lol yep
Patriot Act sure did follow the constitution
Fun fact: America may be a young country, but it does have the oldest Constitution.

one could argue that it is showing it's age

The Constitution specifically says that all powers it does not give to the Federal Government, it gives to the people. Yet for decades now, The Feds have been taking that power for themselves, using it write laws saying what we CAN do, not laws that say what we shouldnt do.

The US constitution is a masterfully written document.
Nobody follows it anymore though.

Uh, no. Regulating businesses != infringement of the constitution.
And you don't even know how the 10th amendment works. It grants powers to the STATES, not the PEOPLE. A state government can be as tyrannical as the federal government.
The only time when the federal AND local governments overstep their bounds is when they violate the first nine amendments, which happens quite often with the conservative legislated morality and patriot act type legislation.

Nowhere in the document does it specify what is right or wrong in marriage or any other such subject. It's a moral decision that has been policitized.
go legalize gay marriage

I don't see any where in the constitution making it illegal for gay marriage.

MSNBC doesn't make shit up and they don't all sound like insane fundies. They're biased but they're not close to Fox News at all.

The problem with Fox is that it's so biased whenever something true comes out or a respectable opinion it is always regarded as rubbish.

The idea of the 10th Amendment is, if the constitution has not specifically given an ability to the federal government, then it is a state issue.
Gay marriage - state issue
Capital punishment - state issue
Stem cell - state issue
Drug legalization - state issue
All that shit is state issues, not for the federal government to decide.
As for regulating businesses, it's only legal for the federal government if it's a business that does its commerce across at least two states. If not, then it's a state issue for what ever the business is doing.

Exactly. And most of the business that need regulation are national, therefore saying the federal government is overstepping its bounds by regulation is unconstitutional is a false claim.

Patriot Act is bullshit, and DOES go against the Constitution. Yet, I dont see the Progressives making an attempt to repeal it? No. They like having the power. They like having all these abilities available, and yet they can still blame it on Bush.

Have they exercised their ability to use these powers though? I think most people would like to see the PATRIOT act repealed, but if they're not using it it's sort of moot.

yes, it's been used for things unrelated to terrorism too.
drug violations, credit card fraud, bank theft, etc.
