Seriously, why don't companies have at least one person who knows of the Streisand effect?
Lawyers don't get their paycheck by respecting the Streisand Effect.
Cue Kojima going to kickstarter in a few years to make a espionage game.
Have him team up with the guys that were remaking Metal Gear 1 to make the spiritual successor to the series. With David Hayter on board. [editline]14th May 2015[/editline]
And I wasn't fooled by the Patriots, I was confused by the terrible controls. How could I hate Solidus more than this game?
No, I think you just suck at the game.

Don't they constantly say "Call us if you need help" at the beginning bits of the game? Anyway, let's not get off topic.
As for the boss fights, they're boss fights, I don't know what you were expecting. And if you really are dying instantly so much, you should probably look at the way you're playing.
More importantly, they are MGS boss fights. They are always a bit abstract and can infuriatingly difficult. But nothing that you can't figure out through the codec calls at least.
Talk about streisand effect.

DMCA takedown notices are sent under penalty of perjury, it's one of the requirements. It's about time that people started being held accountable for sending fraudulent ones.
Oh my god YouTube, this is not you at all!
Oh my god YouTube, this is not you at all!
i wouldn't be surprised if one of the people in charge of this is a big metal gear fan and doing this to spite konami
I REALLY hope Kojima gets picked up by another high profile company, it would break my heart to see him have to start asking for money on kickstarter to make games with a mediocre dev team and no publisher.
What high profile company did you have in mind that isn't just as shit as Konami? Not trying to be snarky, I genuinely can't think of anyone who would give Kojima the creative freedom he wanted while funding his projects, with the exception of possibly Nintendo. Almost all of Capcom's lead devs left. Sega's business practices are downright stupid as hell when it comes to localization and marketing, but I suppose they aren't too terrible when it comes to limiting their developers' creativity.
I actually, genuinely hope Konami goes bankrupt. ain't gonna happen, at least not anytime soon, but I still hope it does.
I actually, genuinely hope Konami goes bankrupt. ain't gonna happen, at least not anytime soon, but I still hope it does.
if the video game portion of them dies they would hopefully sell all of their games
if the video game portion of them dies they would hopefully sell all of their games
That would be great but I don't think that's going to happen. They're going to ram those franchises onto Mobile and the death spiral of those franchises is only going to be doubly prolonged.
Only reason I am even bothering purchasing MGS5 is because it will likely be the last great title in the series, and at this rate its most certainly the last one to be crafted with Kojima's touch. I think of it as sort of a farewell to one of my favorite people in the industry. After that, hell will freeze over before I willingly give Konami my money.
if the video game portion of them dies they would hopefully sell all of their games
That could go either way really, on the one hand.....A good company gets it so yay for us.....but can you imagine if some shits like Capcom or EA got a hold of it? *shudders*
Hell, who's to say he'd go back to a gaming company? Maybe he'd like to go into movies or something. He's definitely had a lot of ideas on the mind, and at this point he should have the money to work with people and get them realized.
Still though could you please explain what the fuck went on at the end of mgs2
TL;DR Solidus was the good guy. You goofed when you killed him.
TL;DR Solidus was the good guy. You goofed when you killed him.
Solidus wasn't really a good guy, as much as an almost anti-hero. He used extreme methods to attempt to achieve an ultimately good goal.
Solidus wasn't really a good guy, as much as an almost anti-hero. God, it was sad seeing Solidus put everything on the line only to end the way it did.
Dont know about you but [sp]launching a nuke over MANHATTAN[/sp] probably wasnt going to end well for him anyway.
Well he was a guy with a "you gotta do what you gotta do" mentality. He was prepared to push himself to his limits and beyond for his cause. An almost just cause when you consider [SP]how twisted the patriots become later in the series. War economy anybody?[/SP]
quote from Jim Sterling in the comments section
Jim Sterling 2 weeks ago +The Newbie Gamer They blacklisted me in an incredibly cowardly way, refusing to deal with me personally and using proxies. Their contempt for me and my criticism of their business practices was so bitter that they actually fucked over WayForward Studios in the process - refusing to let me publish an interview for a game that WayForward really wanted to see published, just because they didn't like me. I actually had to be snuck over to Konami's booth at E3 to check out a game that the devs really wanted me to check out. I won't go into ALL the details here (especially as I gotta save something for later) but the impression I got of the company and the information relayed to me paints a picture of a petty-minded, ego-driven company that will burn its own house down over a personal slight.
Fortune and Vamp wanting to use the nonexistant nukes to wipe out the city was just because they're assholes who want to watch the world burn and were little more than psychopaths by that point.[/sp] [editline]15th May 2015[/editline]
quote from Jim Sterling in the comments section
Jim Sterling actually had a video last month I believe, a little paraphrased but pretty much an exact quote of that comment within the video itself as he talked about the issues involving Konami.
Actually wait no the war economy was a massive fuck up on their part that the "Patriots" never wanted or planned for when JD/GW suddenly decided to go off on its own and turn mass produced soldiers into a commodity. It went against what Zero set out to do in the first place and it actually led to their downfall iirc. Like the irony was that his system figured the best way to continue his organization and continue building funds was through perpetual war, but that basically followed what Big Boss set out to do instead of Zero's vision and whatever he though the Boss wanted of the world. Or something. [editline]16th May 2015[/editline] and that's great writing
Ahh that's true isn't it? Sorry, been awhile since I played MGS4.
I keep thinking everyone here's already played through the Metal Gear series. Now I'm gonna ask why haven't they?
I sadly will never be able to play MGS4 and finish the story due to not having a PS3, having played 1 and 2 on PC and 3 on Xbox.
I sadly will never be able to play MGS4 and finish the story due to not having a PS3, having played 1 and 2 on PC and 3 on Xbox.
'Never' is a bit much isn't it? Not as if they're even remotely expensive these days second hand.
I sadly will never be able to play MGS4 and finish the story due to not having a PS3, having played 1 and 2 on PC and 3 on Xbox.
I would honestly suggest just watching a walkthrough. The gameplay is really fun when its there, but people aren't exaggerating when they talk about how frequent and how long cutscenes are in the game. I got up to chapter 4 or so when I said "fuck it I'm just going to finish it on YouTube". I have like ADD or something and I can't stand just watching something by itself unless its REALLY interesting- I need to be multitasking while I watch or I get anxious and feel like I could be spending my time being productive or something.
Yeah, you could literally create a movie out of the cutscenes in MGS4. Don't get me wrong, the cutscenes were beautiful and I love David Hayter but damn man. Don't you need to beat the actual game in less than 5 hours for the big boss ranking? On the boss extreme difficulty?
'Never' is a bit much isn't it? Not as if they're even remotely expensive these days second hand.
Well, I really have no interest in getting a PS3, but I pretty much know roughly most of the lore anyways due to my love for reading up on wikis.
I sadly will never be able to play MGS4 and finish the story due to not having a PS3, having played 1 and 2 on PC and 3 on Xbox.
The novelization is really good, you should check that out. It takes out a lot of the weaker elements of the game and just ties the whole story together a lot better.
