1mb here in the west of Ireland. Or in reality 0.88mb. Most people here still think computers are a novelty they see on TV, and refer to the radio as the "Wireless". That being said it's nice an quiet out here.
I get 120Mbps for $30. Hungary.
Central EU / Balkans are not really behind in terms of Internet speeds. On par with Northern EU, I'd say.
That's cheap, i pay £22.50 for 30mbps in the uk although i only get 20 on virgin.
HOLY SHIT I MAYBE WONT HAVE 250 down 25kbs up anymore?
Hallelujaaaahh
Back at home I used to get 35/35, cable tv and phone for the price of 25-30 Euros.
Bulgaria - we might not have security, healthcare or money but fuck that, who needs that shit if you got good and cheap internet.
10/0.6 $120 /mo
'Straya.
20 MBits is the highest I can get in my country, aka Faroe Islands :[
16Mbits down and 2 up is the fastest possible speed I can get here (Central North London, England). Most people around here can only get ISDN (128kb), satellite (512kb tops) or dialup (56kb). The reason, because the area of the city I am in is very VERY old (the building I'm in is 750 years old!), and changing/digging up the roads/drilling holes into walls is forbidden. There are plans to install ADSL2+ infrastructure in 2018 though so we'll all have 24Mbit's. Perhaps by then 4g and what ever follows after that (5g?) will overtake the stability and speed currently offered by wired connections.
Internet, especially stable fast internet is something only very rich people have, to install a dedicated line is well over a grand, and costs around £400 a month and that is for a 2Mbit symetrical line. Satellite which is the fastest option available costs £500ish for installation, £100 a month for equipment rental and then another £60ish for the service, you'd be looking at 10 - 20gb per month usage cap on that, ISDN is what most people are on here as it's cheap, there is no theoretical limit and the installation charge isn't too bad. Dialup doesn't really cut it any more.
I've had people, including 2 businesses approach me and offer me quite a bit of money to tap into my wifi because I get 'godlike' speeds for where we are. It is because I live RIGHT next door to the exchange and I have a friend who works there who managed to work something out and got me all set up with a proper connection.
DA!
DA!

We have decent speeds here in Serbia but we could have way faster speeds (as in fastest in the whole region) if it weren't for bipol between Telekom Srbija and SBB.
Don't forget Slovenians :<
I don't use the googles, I was pressured to stop speaking Croatian when I was 3 because I grew up in America.
Oh fuck sorry if I bumped this thread I didn't realize it was old.
Aaand I guess it's not that old
There are more Bulgarian facepunchers than I thought :0

Loads emone in the USA.
Also, realistically, it's only 2MB/s download and ~1MB/s upload.

Well, duh - Speedtest measures in Megabits/s, not Megabytes.
Sweetness, I'm going to visit Croatia this next summer. What wonderful timing!
