Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 Confirmed, First Screenshots Shown - Polidicks

As much as I loved and have so much nostalgia over the Tony Hawk games, I think "Skate 1/2/3" spoiled me into easier and more fluid controls that make THPS feel clunky. Can't beat the THPS soundtracks though.

I'll wait and see, but knowing my nostalgic impulses, I'll probably get in it no matter what. Whether I enjoy it 2-3 months down the line is another story.

i never played to much of the THPS games but THUG 1 + 2 and Project 8 were ones that i absolutely loved as a kid

The environments look fine. The color grading needs some work and the contrast is blown out, like a bad GTA IV ENB shader mod. The characters though, holy shit. It looks like someone scanned a THPS screenshot out of an old EGM magazine and photoshopped the blurry ass scan into a screenshot. Like, Tony's head just looks hella unfocused and blocky. It's weird.

Project 8 was pretty good. I'd be happy with something like that again.

We have a new Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Tony Hawk in development... what year are we in?

Also, I see this isn't coming to PC, which is a real shame. Considering how many Tony Hawk games were released on PC, other than the first Tony Hawk game, Project 8 and Proving Ground. Activision should add them to Steam for a fair price... Yeah right.

On the bright side EA might actually bring back Black Box to make Skate 4.

Pulse was my definition of Tony hawk. Makes me sad to see them so unpopular.

I hope it comes with a brand new set of levels and soundtrack. People forget Tony Hawks nostalgia tripped itself nearly every iteration after THPS4. Like, I fucking love THPS, but I don't get why they ever made THPSHD, when it was literally a rehash of levels we've played a million times before with the same superman song we've heard a million tines. The novelty wears really thin after a while. Also THPSHD was just pure shit to play. People are getting really mad over those projectile based missions and i'm 100% sure you're all forgetting the bullshit missions THUG2 and THAW had and firefight mode.

I wonder if there was post effects applied in a photo editing software to make the screenshots look that way.

Always liked THPS. Never really cared for actual skating. JSRF made me like Roller Blading though.
