my mum who is a nurse was just telling my brother, who is a receptionist at a medical center, not to get within one metre of patients. This is in australia, this ebola scare...
Hey, I live in Ohio! Guess I better watch out for those damn ebola zombies I hear about on Facebook :suicide:.
No, but in all seriousness, I think we'll be fine. I am marginally worried about my mom, who's a nurse. At the same time, I know she's more competent than a lot of doctors in our area, and the fact we're nowhere near where it says this person went, but stranger things have happened. Nothing to panic about, obviously.
i guess we all live in ohio, we can live this out TOGETHER
Nina Pham, the first nurse to contract Ebola at the Texas hospital that treated Duncan, reportedly exhibited symptoms even before she had a fever, which leads to more questions about why Vinson was allowed to get on a plane before the 21-day Ebola incubation period ended.
Anyone able to confirm validity on the Source? Because if this is true... well, so much for no symptoms displayed.
EDIT: Looked at the comments on the article. Well, that was enlightening as to its audience. Doubting the Source now.
Here are the official CDC procedures for removing contaminated clothing after dealing with someone suffering from Ebola. Count how many times nurse touches their clothing with bare skin, and be afraid.

This honestly doesn't look that terrible, she doesn't touch any of the high-risk areas of the protective gear (hint, viruses don't just magically stick to everywhere nearby), and it does not look like it is the procedure for BSL-4 either.

Literally the only thing about that even mildly concerns me is the second glove, but even that was done well. There is nothing wrong with this procedure.

I heard there were two Lucas County residents on that plane.
RIP me.
Seriously though the only one in my family freaking out is my cousin because one of his teachers made them all think it was super contagious.
We try to tell him otherwise but he won't believe us.
What's confused me is how a lot of people on FP have said that Ebola is hard as fuck to spread in first-world countries, unless you basically roll in infected bodily fluids and have splashfights in them with other people.
And yet, it seems to be spreading like crazy anyways. I get that a lot of the fear over it is just fear-mongering bullshit being churned up for views/clicks, but it's still spreading a lot more than people claim it should. It's a bit confusing.
"Spreading like crazy." Right, only TWO people have been confirmed to be infected, oh yeah, this shit is spreading like crazy.
Dude, stop buying into the media bullshit, they're just doing it for ratings.
