Someone linked to a source on the official Disney website, I don't think they should skeptical.
Would it be too optimistic to hope that Lucas learned from his mistakes in the prequels? Or is Star Wars officially dead now?
So who actually owns the Star Wars IP now, if it's Disney maybe they'll be a bit more receptive to people wanting Battlefront and Republic Commando.
depends on what you consider cannon i guess
either way i don't see them getting the original actors to reprise their roles nor do i see them following those characters. i guess it must be set pretty far into the future
not to mention episodes 1 - 6 were anakin's story... i feel like this shouldn't be called episode 7
Originally, there were only three SW movies and it was Luke's story. Add three movies and suddenly it's Anakin's story. Add another three movies and now it's....someone else's story. Not a problem as far as I can see.

star wars certificate of death

Hopefully if hes part of this hes only an adviser.

after the first one came out they were labeled 4 - 6 so it was supposed to be anakin's pretty much from the start

god red letter media needs to talk about this in their next half in the bag
Holy shit, did not see that coming
Mark is too old to Be Luke anymore
Depends on when the story takes place, Luke lives for a fairly long time. (Checked at it's between ~41 to 130 years after the events of Episode VI that he dies.)
If they make the movies about the Yuuzhan Vong War it'll be about 20 years after Episode VI which would make sense.
Further proof that George does not care about star wars any more.
it won't be canon i don't give a fuck about what you say disney
It better not be cartoon looking.
I'm scared. I love Star Wars to death, but I don't think this will turn out well. I may see the new movies out of curiosity and sheer love of Star Wars, but I don't have high expectations for the future.
They better not touch the EU, though.
I thought the Jedi Knight games were continuations of the series!
What the actual literal fuck

Thats not necessarily true.
Disney has a lot of money to budget for a film.

except it would have been 32 years after episode 6 (in real life). the actors are all way too old and didn't age well
It should be on the Yuzhong Vong War.
Quite sceptical about how it would turn out though.
If they make it good and set during the Yuuzhan Vong War, I'll watch it. Ah who am I fucking with, I'll be watching it anyway. But seriously, they had better use the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, because they could actually use Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford if they did that. They're about the right age for their characters at that point.

right and a lot of money to give lucas. lucas just cares about the money (guess he doesn't have enough or something) not star wars

And Lucas does not? I'm sure the extra billion from Disney would add minimal quality.
And seriously, I am no starwars buff... But isn't the story over?
also yuuzhan vong are fucking stupid. you think midichlorians ruined star wars? how about yoda being completely and totally fucking wrong?

I'm not sure how they can make a canon movie without using content from books/video games, so it can't be too bad

There's a shit ton of story in terms of prequel but as a sequel I can see nothing but bad things
What if it's good?
then the mayan calendar was off by 3 years
What if it's good?
Then I (and everyone else) will be overjoyed. But it's best not to count your pilots before they finish assaulting the Death Star. It probably won't be too good.
