that's lucasarts but a Monkey Island Pixar film would be absolutely glorious
Interesting fact!: Ted Elliot screen writer to The Pirates of the Caribbean series had written a script for a Monkey Island film. That's why some locations in the films bare more than a passing resemblance to those from Monkey Island!

For examples!
I'd kill for a Maniac Mansion movie, though (did Lucasarts even publish that game? I believe they did)
Yeah, Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle were developed by Lucasarts.
Day of the Tentacle would translate into an animated film pretty easily, since the artstyle looks cartoonish already
I thought Lucas did plenty of that except in book form? Honestly, there's not much Disney could do to Star Wars that hasn't already been done.
The numerous comic books and novels trying to imagine the follow-up of the original trilogy mostly suck balls. IIRC they are not considered canon because most of them contradict each other. They are mostly very dumb too and often consist in Luke goes dark-side/new death star/both.
Making an actual movie sequel would make it way more mainstream than comicbooks, and it would probably force it to be canon.

We're off to a good start.
This reminds me of the prequels - they are both a massive merchandise opportunity which Lucas will make millions and millions off of.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to merge the monkey Island Universe with Pirates of the Caribbean in the near future.

I would watch the fuck out of that.
This would literally be the most epic thing ever.
Maybe you're just not good with vocabulary, but I think the word you were looking for was "nauseating"
Mark is too old to Be Luke anymore
what if 7 takes place long after VI?
Well seeing as it's being named Episode VII I presume they are set after the original trilogy.
Or not. It's not like they can fit any more numbers between Episode 3 and Episode 4, not since they established the original trilogy as Episodes 4-6.
what if 7 takes place long after VI?
Or not long after III. Bring back McGregor (If he'll return) and focus on what occurs following the dissolution of the Republic and Kenobi's exile.
Might be fairly decent actually.
jedi outcast and jedi academy stories please?
I thought Disney helped produce The Avengers? That was a fucking great film.

used to?
I think you guys are missing the positives here: More reviews from Mr. Plinkett.
KOTOR-era Star Wars?
I'd rather have a movie about Darth Bane if we're going that far back. If done properly, anything revolving around Kaan's army (which iirc was actually called the Dark Brotherhood) would be amazing. They were so much more brutal and...well, realistic, than the current Sith lords.
I actually have tears in my eyes, just for Indiana Jones.
But I might be OK with a sequel SW trilogy. The prequels were bad but I enjoyed them. Hopefully they go along with the EU events and don't do a huge fucking retcon.

This. Or the Great Hyperspace War.
The audience kind of never did get a good explanation on where the Sith came from. (see: Confusedmatthew/Plinkett reviews both hit this one I believe).
Disney now own both Marvel and Star Wars franchise... get ready for Star Wars : Episode 10 - The Avenger Menace
At its worst its going to be as bad as episode one but most likely they will be better films than the prequels. Maybe as good as the Avengers.
nevermind I can't read today.
Sure can't wait for Luke to go all broody and angsty!
Ahahaha! Ahahahahaha! Maybe now I'll get my Star Wars Galaxies back, but with 100% more care bears!
just get Joss Whedon to direct them and bam actually good star wars movies
Suppose they'll have to revise the Disney princesses line now...
because nobody's made that joke in light of all this.
Star Wars has already been dead for a while now, this is just the nail in the coffin.
if this causes the theatrical versions of star wars to be released again god bless disney
See, this.
Well if they were to make a new star wars movie, it had better be based on KOTOR stories.
Oh god please let them do Kyle Katarn

Oh god, I just realized that this is actually possible now. HOLY SHIT.
George Lucas is only going to be a 'Creative Consultant' on Ep7 according to Wikipedia.
So he won't have too much influence.
I'm hoping Disney will move away from its "children" only image because I will piss myself if star wars is raped by a g rated piece of garbage
Conversely, George Lucas now owns about 2 percent of Disney.
