Are they going to like scan his dead body as a skin or something?
Model it after him or just name a NPC after him, maybe even mention him in the credits
I just don't feel this is appropiate at all.
I bet they did it because it was going to get them famous
Are you?
A group representing many people is used with a singular verb.
Would you say, "The company are awesome." No you wouldn't.
Really not the point though, I was only kidding.
It's context dependent.
"[the company] Gearbox is awesome"
"[the group of people known as] Gearbox are awesome"
Why does it matter?
Wow that's pretty cool. I just listened to it :c

That Eulogy made me tear up.
Blizzard did things like this in WoW multiple times, didn't they? It's not really new.
Doesn't make it any less heartwarming.

These videos make me realize why I love video games when they are done right. The sense of investment they can instill is extreme. They can evoke any emotion, and they can make you connect with any character. Movies can come close, but your still a passive presence there. In games, you are the character, you are invested in what happens. Then I look at the people who make those experiences, and I can see how they capture humanity so well. The people at companies like Gearbox and Valve are idealists who can see how they should act, instead of how everyone else does it.
