are you allowed to take bathroom breaks?
are you allowed to take bathroom breaks?
No that's the point. You have to lie in bed without getting up for 70 days
I watched muscular atrophy wittle away at my grandpa, that shit is serious as fuck. If you think giving up the ability to wipe your own ass is worth it, be my guest I guess because you were going to die from something stupid
You'd probably ending up spending that $18,000 in medical bills due to all the health problems associated with that... you'd probably need physical therapy because your muscles would have atrophied so badly.
hi they stick you on oxymetholone for a few weeks, boom, all your muscle size and function back and probably some spare. Guarantee this is what will happen.
guys, after the test they give you a free 14 day rehab treatment to readjust you to normal life
Treatment that costs you $18,000.
I think you guys are overblowing this a little bit. Yes it'll suck but: 1. Assume that you are very physically fit because thats the only way you'll qualify anyways. 2. Unlike being in a hospital for two weeks straight, you actually have an active choice in doing this and will have more bed mobility and freedom, and you'll know exactly when you can leave, even if you can't actually get up. Its nothing like not being able to move hardly at all for 3 days straight because of injuries and not knowing if there will be complications or howlong you'll need to stay. 3. There is a rehab period after which will easily get you aclimated again - its basically exactly what astronauts have to do when they come back to earth to get used to using gravity. I mean, it won't be a wonderful experience and you'll need to spend the next 4-6 months getting back in shape, but for $18,000? Think about that. Not only did you help science, but you have enough money now to basically vacataion wherever you want for two months straight, move somewhere you've always wanted to live but never had enough money saved up to be there for a few months while you look for a job, pay off a huge chunk of your college debt or be able to afford classes, pay off a house/car/etc. It's extremely useful, and you basically get a huge surplus of cash that gives you the freedom to do what you've wanted to do without having to work two years to get the same amount saved up if you make as much as I do ( around $13-15kyr, most of which goes to living expenses). Its literally a life changing amount of money for someone like me, all for the cost of being in a shitty spot for 70 days. Really not that bad. [editline]23rd September 2013[/editline] The worst part about this is getting back into shape when you are done and finding a job again (since you'd have to quit to do this) - but now that you have $18,000 you can afford those downsides. Not to mention, keep in mind, that this is basically 70 days of not having to pay for rent or your own food or anything. For me that alone would save maybe $1000 on top of the reward
So how do you go to the toilet? That's the part that would worry me the most. Besides that 70 days would pass quickly if I could play video games, watch tv series and browse the web.
How would you use the bathroom?
How would you use the bathroom?
How many times does this need to be asked in this thread?
I could almost pay for a year of college. Cool.
I'd do it if they induced a comma state, otherwise it would be hell.
I had to lay _on my back_ for 3 months straight after i had surgery on my spine, it wasn't that bad after all - just make sure you have 2 or more people holding you when you get up for the first time; you will most likely pass out :v:
Is there any reason why they can't just look at coma patients who have already been bedridden for years and not moved an inch?
I'd do it if they induced a comma state, otherwise it would be hell.
As long as they aren't inducing a period for 70 days.
I'd hope they'd dose you up with anticoagulants - laying in bed for 70 days is going to massively increase your chance of getting a DVT.
it says no physical activities unless you are being tested also you are probably monitored 24/7 essentially 70days no wanking still up for the job
Boners, boners all day.
For you gents that have spent more than 3 days in hospital before, you'll get how shit this would be.
I spent over a month in a hospital once (intestines exploded, long story), I could barely walk (with assistance) when I was allowed to stand up
I'd imagine all these health concerns you guys have, would be monitored for by NASA and if they were seen, they would give you medicine. If it got really bad, they would probably abort the study.
