Playstation 4 pre-orders 'breathtakingly high' says Sony UK's Marketing Director

We've stopped doing PS4 preorders at work now because Sony can't guarantee us the stock. Doesn't seem to be an issue with the Xbone though.

Completely opposite over here at Gamestop. We've sold PS4 at a 2:1 (ish) ratio until they were finally both cut off.
A playstation 4 is $600 here in Finland :|
While a Xb1 is about $710.
Holy shit.
Also in Australia we are asset rich but income poor since a lot of out money is in property and super. As a result, most of our money is not really accessible like a savings account.
So we have rich old people rolling around in super and investments and not-so rich non-old people saving up so they can do the same when they get old.
Come tell that to us Singaporeans. We will agree on you Australian about being Asset rich but finacially poor. We Singaporeans share the same predicament as you guys. Most of us citizens are poor in financial standing but our property is worth nearly million of dollars . Plus even if the PS4 was imported here in Singapore, the pricing of a PS4 would still reach a Sing$700 which include taxes

but he isn't talking about whether the cost of living balances out with higher wages
he's talking about the pricing of the consoles and how because it balances out fine, the higher console cost is not okay
I think
Yes, and also there is only a $50 difference in the two consoles too, when the American/European version has a staggering 100+ gap average, what could possibly account for that?
I've not really participated in the console war and general asshattery, but honestly the PS4 is looking like a more solid product every day. I've always had an xbox and later on down the road end up owning all of the consoles. But it looks like this time around PS4 may be my first purchase.

It only applies to Europe I believe, as the email I read basically said "...Sony Europe can no longer guarantee it can fulfill any new PS4 preorders...". We've now switched to just advertising Xbox One preorders.
Won't get until christmas. I wanna get playing GTA V on the PS3 played first.
I wouldn't be surprised, considering Microsoft basically did Sony's advertising for them.
As Yahtzee put it, "It was like Microsoft walked out onto the stage of the International Don't Fuck Up Championship, and proceeded to shiv itself in the stomach 30 times while screaming 'IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!'
Then Sony came out and said 'I don't want to stab myself in the stomach; that shit hurts.' Whereupon fucking confetti exploded from the ceiling and they got handed the Sickest Burn In The Universe trophy.' "
For people who didn't see it.

It balances out, but at a higher level of prices than normal places. It just kinda moves the "average price of items" to a higher level, and the PS3 is an example of that.

Countries with lower purchasing power are usually better off anyway. All it means is that your wages are higher, which balances out the whole issue of high prices, and additionally you get dirt-cheap vacations and amazing purchasing power with your high wages in other countries. Be happy.
