Don't fuck this up
please don't fuck this up
Let's not forget, although the movie was terrible, the Deadpool scene from Xmen: Origins was actually really great.

That's not Deadpool. He's...something else. My cousin is a huge comic book fan and explained something about why he's not Deadpool at that time, at least in behaviour, like they merged two characters for that scene.
This has to be more that a PG-13 to be worth watching though.
He's a creation of Liefield? But his anatomy looks normal.
Well part of the trailer IS him playing with the head of a man he just decapitated, looks like a good sign to me.
Test footage. At any point the studio can say nah make it pg13 for sales reasons and fuck everything up.
Hopefully they will know that Deadpool just simply isn't a PG character and that wouldn't work
Punisher is a violent character that had a pretty good movie
Judging by the trailer it looks like it's going to be R-rated but honestly I wouldn't put it past hollywood to dumb it down to PG-13 for the masses.

You don't see anything signifying gore. In fact, for all the viewer knows, it's just the helmet, and even in X-Men: Origins, you see Deadpool's decapitated head a few times.

I don't know how people are getting "R rating" from the trailer. The action seemed very PG-13 esque: hard to tell what was happening, with zero blood or gore. Hell, when the cyclist was decapitated, all you see was Deadpool reach for his sword. This trailer didn't do anything a PG-13 movie doesn't already show.
Ryan Reynolds would be cool because Nolan North already does everything else.

If it's PG-13, I hope they really push the limits of the rating, and release an unrated edition.

Notice how the rest of the footage didn't have a whole lot of detail and everything looked slightly off? It's test footage, it's just to show the gist of the scene and the overall feel of the movie, they're not going to add in all of the SFX and visual stuff that'll be in the final product.
Pretty much garenteed to be pg13, because they'll want to get kids in there to fill seats
There is no way they can make a Deadpool movie PG-13. There's absolutely no way that can be possible at all
It's already pretty much confirmed that the only way FOX would agree to it is if it was PG-13. Otherwise, too big of a risk.
Depressing, but I guess the comics are PG-13 too if you think about it. Bleeped out swearing and all.

WELP they're reportedly doing it anyways

also "finally figured out the script" sounds like it's also been changed a bunch from the original leaked one. Assuming this is all 100% true. But honestly it's fox, what did people expect.
Why is everything CGI?

i agree with what some of the comments are saying, if they can create a joke or series of jokes around it it'd only lead to more content and style to the movie. Heck, they could use it stylistically and make those long comedic bleeps to things that obviously don't have to be censored, or use it as say, a distraction sound when sneaking past guards or idk something silly like that.

My expectations for the Deadpool film just changed over the years, quite recently in fact..
Considering the test footage, and considering the talks about how R-rated films don't make enough money, Deadpool being dumbed down to PG-13 can be seen coming from miles away.

Just look at the fuckton of bags, of course he's a liefeld character

You're joking, right? I think it might be easy to do it like that. It'll be underwhelming as hell, but definitely possible.
PG13 isn't necessarily a death sentence. They can make it meta and comic booky and bleep out swear words, that'd be pretty Deadpooly and funny, he could even comment on the bleeps. I don't know, I won't judge until the trailer's out.

*makes serious question*
*gets dumbed into oblivion*
Thanks facepunch.

the reason why it's CGI is because it's test footage..
I heard it will be live action though, then again I don't know shit so don't carve my words into stone either.

it's a serious question but it's been used so commonly it's just a means of people shitting on the industry for whatever reason they can muster. it's not even worth answering.. but i'll entertain. it's much easier to do CG than real life stuff, or at the very least less dangerous and costly.
the kinda shit they pulled off here couldn't be done without many multiple takes and that would cost the company hundreds of thousands of dollars and company time(like the car flip, stuff like that only works out practically in very controlled situations that take months to develop, or the stunts they had to pull off in such a closed space.) plus, with the way CG artists get shafted as of late, it's much cheaper to do CG nowadays (not a good reason but i'm listing it here to be in the mind of a producer.)
plus, with CG you can literally taylor the performance as much as you want to be absolutely perfect, even in intense situations. and with a character like deadpool, there's limitless possibilities to what you can do with him, so you use a limitless artform. if we look back to movies like "Monster House" which was a film produced with mocap at a time where mocap wasn't as advanced as it was, their reasoning for doing stuff like that when they could've done it with CG and greenscreen was because the environments they wanted to shoot on were so nuts it just made sense to make everything CG rather than half of it and pull off a crappy low-budget CG effect for like 4/5ths of the movie.
I assume deadpools gonna be the same if he pulls off the same shit he does in here, like jumping into a car on a highway or rolling in said car, taunting a gun-toting bad dude in slow mo. That would have to have some serious coordination with the effects department, who'd have to comp in the actor, make sure he's moving at the correct speed, comp in a car, the environment, the bad dude (depending on the situation) etc etc. so much bullshit is left out of the equation if you do it in CG. that doesn't mean practical effects are bullshit, they actually are useful and should be used in situations where CG would be pointless. but 9/10 shots in this video were impossible to pull off practically.
plus, it just looks dang good for cg, even if it's damp and colorless.
I am not into comics so I don't know about the heroes/characters but:
I saw deadpool in Wolverine Origins and his mouth was sealed/sewed.
How come he can talk in games and trailer? anyone can explain?

It could work. If they do it in the style of Ultimate Deadpool, it could be a fun flick.

A bit less goofy maybe :v:

Oh, I guess I've never seen that part even though I watched Origins like 4 times. That makes sense so.
