From my understanding of it, it's considered a disorder or something similar for health insurance reasons to force insurance companies to give it more coverage or something like that. But in the end it's not really something that could truly be considered a disorder or illness or anything like that. Unlike something like depression or even something that you can't get rid of like schizophrenia it's a little different. Depression is an actual illness almost like a cold, just mental. Schizophrenia is a disorder which is something actually wrong with the way your mind works. Transgenderism doesn't really fall under either part because it deals with physical things as well as self identity as a whole.
What exactly does pc mean in this context?
Well obviously something had to have gone wrong or they would have been born with the right body.
Well obviously something had to have gone wrong or they would have been born with the right body.
From what they can figure out so far, it's hard to detect these things apparently, it's origin comes from hormonal balance issues during pregnancy. It causes a male mind and female body or female mind and male body to develop because the mind and body develop at different rates.
Over 30 pages because of a tweet.
Good job!
I try to be PC to transgender people, but it's hard. It's really hard. One of my best friends is trans and I have no idea how to refer to this person because I don't want to flat out be prof. oak to this person and ask for this person's gender. So, LGBTQIA Activists, please be patient with us cis-sexuals while we try to learn an entirely new language of PC to suit your lifestyles.
i dont know how it can be hard for you its pretty simple
just say "what would you prefer"
thats it
its not hard

Exactly, I'm not transgender, it doesn't effect me, so if people are uncomfortable with how they look or with who they are, let them change if they want. Hell of a lot better than telling them to shut up and deal with it.

then their response is "what do you think" and you're back at square one
there are a lot of things the person could say in response and giving you a straight-up answer is likely but not guaranteed
like i said like ten pages ago, the easiest way to do it without offending anyone (if you're REALLY concerned with not offending anyone in the first place) if you're unsure is to just avoid gender pronouns until someone else who is sure (friends, etc) uses one in the way that person wants to be called
i'm so lazy that rather than making the incredibly miniscule amount of effort it would take to call someone by their preferred pronoun i'm just gonna be an offensive dickhead and blame it all on PC gone mad

ok thank you for your input
the part of the post that matters is the part where people don't risk offense by taking incredibly easy steps to avoid it if that's what they are really concerned about

Or we could just come up with two new pronouns (as I suggested like 6 or 7 pages ago) which represent, "male mentally, female physically," and, "female mentally, male physically," and bam the world is easy again and we don't have all of this confusion.
I mean the first definition for 'woman' if you tell Google to define it is:
wom·an
/ˈwo͝omən/
Noun
An adult human female.
And for 'man':
man
/man/
Noun
An adult human male.
This big argument over 'male and female' being sexes and 'man and woman' being genders is plagued with issues from the very start because of the etymology of these words and the fact that for the past EVER those words have been synonymous with one another and are actually defined as the same damn thing. We need new words to make sense of the situation and then nobody can be confused.

you aren't the first person to suggest this.

here's what's easier, if someone wants you to call them he call them that, if they want you to call them she call them that. if you find that too confusing then i don't see how adding more pronouns to the mix is gonna make it any easier for you

Well what if I want you to call me a robot? Or a dinosaur? You wouldn't. You know why? Because I'm NOT one. I do not fit the DEFINITION of what they are. This is why we have a written language, so that things make sense, so that we can communicate with each other. If we don't all agree on something as simple as the definition of a word communication breaks down, attempting to convey ideas becomes meaningless.
If you do not fit the definition of a 'man' then you are NOT a man. If you do not fit the definition of a 'male' then you are NOT a male. A male is, according to Wikipedia, a physiological sex which produces sperm (although that definition should probably be modified slightly because it doesn't take into consideration damage or intentional surgical modification to the testes or relevant, connected areas which would prevent sperm production), and a man is a human, adult male. I am both a male and a man.
If you are physically a female but identify mentally as a male then come up with a new pronoun to explain that and things will be a lot simpler. We won't have any breakdowns in communication and everyone will be happy.

But don't you realize?
Doing things that are kind is hard! All these goddamn politically-correct scumbags telling me that I have to not contribute to someone else's depression - I thought this was America, all freedom is lost! And things that I don't understand scare me! So I shouldn't like it! And everything in the world should be a binary black-and-white thing, or else it makes me confused and scared! I have to defend a useless moot point strictly regarding the language by which we define other people for no good reason because I can't accept the fact that I am a bigot!
