You want to know something? Gay pride is the best thing that ever happened to homosexuals, and I'll tell you why. It's empowering. It lets people know that there are other people out there who take pride in who they are, regardless of persecution in many parts of the world or people who may not like it. You don't tell people your straight because you've never been persecuted, there is nothing to empower you there because you are part of a privileged majority. It's a way of coping in a world who largely rejects us. You say you want integration? That we should blend in? Then why not fight alongside us for equal rights, and act like there is truly nothing to fear for the way we are. Sitting in a quiet corner, letting your rights be stripped away is not integration. It's fighting for recognition as equals that is.

Uh, as far as I know, nobody will ask you if you like men or not in normal everyday life activities, you are already blended in. And nobody is taking your rights away. Basically what you're doing with parade is attention whoring. Now what makes me angry is that they proceed with the parade even though they were warned multiple times not to do it. It only ends in demonstrations and ruined towns, and later they even bitch about it (even tho they were warned [B]not[/B] to hold the damn parade). If parade will ruin my town and spark massive protests, I'd rather not have it at all. It will only increase hatred toward gay men anyway.
